Pasta Lupino Gourmet is a Gourmet pasta shop featuring freshly made pastas, soups, sauces and daily baked breads. Eat in or take out an easily prepared meal solution.
Most of the restaurants in Whistler seem to be very expensive. We were staying overnight in Whistler before returning home from vacation and we wanted something more substantial than pizza or a burger but we didn't want to spend $30.00 + for dinner.
Pasta Lupino was perfect for what we wanted. At dinner you can have your choice of pasta and sauce for $12.95, this includes a choice of Caesar or mixed green salad and also your pick from 3 different soups. The pasta is served with foccaccia bread. They also have 6 or 7 entrees priced around $15.95. These entrees also come with the same accompaniements. I had linguine with bolognese sauce and my husband opted for Hot Italian sausage with pasta. Both dishes were well prepared, the pasta was al dente and the serving was a decent size. For a small restaurant they also have a decent wine list. Dinner for the two of us with tip and a bottle of wine was $60.00.
The service was decent. The waitress was pleasant and seated us promptly and took our order and delivered our meal in a timely fashion.
It is a small cozy restaurant with wooden chairs and tables. They seem to do a pretty good take out business as well.
Recommended if you're in Whistler and do not wish to blow the wad at the high end restaurants.
Outstanding value in Whistler sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, but Pasta Lupino is the real deal. Where can you get a bowl of pasta for lunch for a little over six bucks? Let alone Whistler. Let alone fresh, house made pastas and sauces. For $6.35 you get a bowl of pasta with a choice of three house sauces - we had tomato and basil. We also added a salsiccia sausage for an extra couple of bucks. The pasta was simple and basic, the sauce was flavourful. The bread that accompanied was warm and very fresh. Truly great value here...and a steal for Whistler. The downside? Only about six tables so can probably get to be a wait sometimes.
Wow, what a sweet deal considering the prices in Whistler. Fresh made pasta with a bolognese sauce that has depth and topped with homemade focaccia. Reasonable portion and the latte ordered by another customer looked like it had silky foam. I wish the pasta was cooked a wee less because personally, I enjoy al dente on the chewier side. Otherwise, pleasant service and also recommended by a local.
Our innkeeper recommended this place. It is at the back of IGA - very hard to find if you are a tourist. Perhaps this place offers one of the best deals you can find in Whistler. For $11.95, you can have a basket of soft bread, green/ceaser salad, fresh pasta with home made sauce of your choice. We could go back every night. The place is tiny but comfortable and homey. The service could be slow when busy but very pleasant nonetheless. Highly recommend.
This is a great little pasta restaurant recommended to me by some local residents. The restaurant is small (only 5 or 6 tables), but we had no problem getting one. The prices are great and everything is freshly made. It really filled us up after a long walk in the cold through the village! You have to order your food at the counter, and then the food is brought to you. They also have self-serve water. We thought it was great for a small, independent restaurant.
We live in Whistler, and this is the one restaurant our family visits time and time again.
Consistently warm welcoming smiley service. Your meal includes fresh breads, soup or salad, and good selection of great on-site freshly made pasta. Good luck saving room for their delicious desserts (tiramisu rates 5/5). Seating is limited, but often the line-up is for their popular take-out so don't be discouraged to arrive to a line-up...the wait is worth it. Be patient too locating the restaurant for the first time...it's around the back of the Marketplace IGA, next door to 7-11.
Looking for great value, great service, tasty food and a sincere welcome ambiance? See you at Pasta Lupino! Families welcome too!
This place has the most amazing fresh pasta I have ever tasted. A simple menu with options to create your own pasta and sauce combos. Also, a take out option to make your meal at home. Deeeeeeeelicious.
