Was My Meal Rescued From The Dumpster?

Gosh what a disappointment dining at Montana's yesterday. I have eaten there a number of times and this was my first downer.

I arrived shortly after 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and I was literally the only customer in the place. I walked into the bar area and saw what turned out to be the entire staff congregating around one of the tables in the bar. Everyone looked up at me like I was Dad who just caught them all smoking a joint in the basement. What were they doing? I assume they were cheesed that they would have to do something.

I sat at the bar and had instant service. The girl behind the bar was pleasant enough so no complaints there. I ordered the small rib dinner with their bold bbq sauce a plain baked potato, nothing on it and that corn bread that they serve. They used to have a rib and chicken combo but have removed in from the menu. I wanted to order that but I am out of luck.

My order arrived in no time flat. Although the rib portion was fairly substantial
it was covered in a sweet sweet sauce. So sweet it almost made my molars ache. It was like eating candy meat. Not only that it wasn't nearly hot enough. The baked potato was another thing. It tasted like it was baked sometime in the late 1980's. It had that awful "been in a cardboard box down in the cellar for a long long time" taste. I love my baked potatoes but could only eat half of it due to the funky taste.

It was if the dinner was left over from the night before and they just nuked it for a couple of minutes before serving it up. I am sorry not acceptable for the price tag. The dinner with one beer just over $25.00

real improvements lately

I have been coming to Montana's for a long time now and have seen the service and food go threw some big ups and downs over the years. I have to say that something has changed lately. It is better than I can remember. Some of the same long faces are there walking around but the service I received from a new face there was outstanding. She was at the table the right amount of time and we didn't feel like she was part of our meal. It was great. I recommend trying it again if you haven't been in for a while.

Dead Animals all over the walls. Poor Selection went there on a evening to find that they were out of almost everything that we tried to order. When we finally found something that they weren't sold out of it tasted Horrible & was cold. Have to admit that will be the last time that they see me at their Establishment. But hey you might like it Pilgram hahaha A better choice might be Mac Donalds tho.

this used to be the most mediocre restaurant around. we tried it when they first opened it was okay but nothing to write about. We went there a year ago or so and it was garbage. I thought we would never go there again, until someone said to us that it was really good. Intrigued by the kids eat free menu on tuesdays, and the fact that another foodie said it was worth it, we went..... It was awesome. .... they made a major change to the menu, .and they now have all you can eat ribs all day every day. their prices are better than Kelsey's, and we left satisfied. We have made it our tuesday night spot and everything we have tried on the menu so far has ben outstanding..... two thumbs up for the new kitchen staff at Montana's . I am now a convert.

Worst service

The service was terriable. Young inexperienced kids. No leadership. Drinks took over 20 minutes. There was only 3 tables in the place at the time. The draught beer was not avalable due to a change over. Would it not be a good idea to offer a discount on bottled beer ? My wifes healthy choise quesadilla was the worst meal she ever had. It was full of grease .My pasta dish had no flavour...Like another review said it looked like it came out of the garbadge. No value in dinning here in anyway... Go to White spot or swiss chalet, they know how to run a company. I do not work for them. Very bad.
