For the Value Seekers

I've been here twice, all after 8pm and I will admit that this place is about value.

The food's freshness, if you don't order anything fishy, than it will be alright. As with many value restaurants, I don't rate it according to a normal system because value normally drags everything else down quite alot. If you're seeking a place to fill up your tummy without blowing a wallet, come right here. Freshness is decent but not great although the meats and veggies are not bad - just the seafood isn't the highest quality but hey, the place is not going to bid for the highest quality seafood when they're selling it at rock bottom price. There are no $2 caviars or $5 fine dining french cuisines in the world is there?

quantity of the foods are huge and will be more than enough for the average joe, enough for sharing most of the time between two people.

the menu has a huge selection so take your time. i normally order the daily specials.

40% off selected menu items after 8pm.

saturday nights are normally very packed as this is the time i normally go because they must serve something fresher than normal.

service is decent and prompt.

overall, i would return.

Not for serious or picky eaters

This restaurant is at the bottom of low-end Japanese Restaurant for sure; it's a OK if you desparately need a quick bite, or, you have limit budget for dining out, or, you don't really care about what you are eating.

A Japanese restaurant run by Vietnamese, sounds bad in the first place, just like I wouldn't have high hopes on Beef Phos served in a Vietnamese restaurant run by Japanese.

The restaurant is quite spacious, in addition to 15 bar seats there are more than 20 tables. However, no more than 40% of tables will be taken at any time of a day; and that makes me wonder if the foods there are fresh enough.

I was there last wednesday and ordered a Special Box A, a spicy tuna cone, and an orange juice. The only thing impressive was that a free pop served with the box, other than that, I really don't have too many nice words to say about the foods. The spicy tuna cone was not at all carefully made; it fell apart as soon as I tried to pick it up. As to the box, well, the BBQ Chicken was dry and chewy, probably recooked many times around; the tempura was totally a mess, I had no idea when was the last time they had changed the deep fry oil. And finally, the California Roll tasted just about average but I am sure the blackening avacado might make you sick to the stomach. And all these mishaps left veggie salad the only thing received no complaints.

I hoped that I was just having a bad day, but aparently it was the restaurant that ruined my day...so check it out.

Good some days...

Since I work around the corner, many of my co workers and I order from here on a regular basis. Our office probably spends at least $300 per week here. Anyways, some days they are friendly and promt, on others they are willing to deliver, some days they wont. Their pamphlet says they close at 10pm during the week, but then when we place a call for delivery (or pick-up when they wont deliver) we are told they close at 9. When you point it out to them that their advertisement says 10, they get angry and have actually hung up on us. Also, the quality of their food is good some days, bad on others. Lets get some consistancy here! Oh well...with Hons across the street now, I think we will be going to them more frequently.

Yesterday's Sushi at Today's Prices!

I can't believe the experience I had at this place two weeks ago! I ordered Avocado Maki rolls. They're my favourites and I've had them at many different places but never, NEVER before in my life did I see avocado that had become ABSORBED by the rice because it had been prepared the day or week before! It was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!

I asked for a napkin, the waitress pointed to the table next to me FOR ME TO TAKE IT OFF. It's not like she was doing anything. I refused to leave a tip. I didn't even want to pay for the meal I ordered, because I COULDN'T EAT IT.

Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! My Germany grandmother could have made better sushi, and she doesn't even know how to cook rice! It was beyond bottom of the barrel: this is the kind of place that you only go to once, and twice if you've lost a bet.

I don't bet, I won't go back.

Oh, and for those of you who DON'T LIKE PEOPLE SMOKING IN THE RESTAURANT, the chefs and the serving staff all go in the back and light up quite a bit. The bathroom is cold and damp, there's no hot water and no toilet paper, so if you have to go...and you know what I mean, you're better off leaving the restaurant and dashing behind the dumpster because you're going to have the same ambiance and you'll pay far less for it. Plus, if you avoid this restaurant all together perhaps you won't have the intestinal problems I did.
