Clean, Friendly, Cheap and delicious

"Donburi" is a Japanese word describing meals consisting of stuff on top of rice. There's many different variations and this place covers a lot of ground. There's the cooked chicken, beef and egg on rice, and there's the raw salmon, tuna on sushi rice. I tried the Tuna/green onion on sushi rice and it was great. Beer was cold. They have community jars of pickled radish so help yourself. The girl cashier and other employees are smiling and polite (so tip them well). The space only seats about a dozen but it's clean and bright. How they manage to pay Robson Street rent is a mystery but they have two other restaurants (another on the South end of Robson called Ebi-Ten).

best yakiudon in town!

This is a quaint Japanese fast food restaurant located on Robson Street which is well known for their quick service and cheap eats. We’ve been their patrons for many years but recently they had a price hike so we’re not sure if we’ll frequent them anymore.

Yakiudon - $8.50 (M) / $9.50 (L) (5.5/7)
This delicious dish consists of udon, beef, cabbage, various other vegetables, and is topped off with crispy tempura bits and green onions. It’s probably our favourite dish here and we order it every time. The overall dish wasn’t too oily and the amount of sauce used was just right. Adding Sriracha sauce definitely complements the noodles well and there are free spices and pickled vegetables at the condiment bar! The only thing that we didn’t like though, was that the cabbage were far too raw to be added into a cooked noodle dish.

Great Take Out

I used to go to this place often for take out as it was close to work. The food is good, always consistent. Compared to all the other places on Robson this one is probably the best value for the food you get. The girls working there are very sweet and energetic. This is also probably the cheapest place to order takoyaki. They are deep fried but they still taste great.
