Yup, just like Halifax...

We walked in here on a lark since they advertised "Halifax-style" donairs. Well, it just so happens yours truly has in fact been to Halifax and sampled what is reputed to be one of their finest donair joints. We'll see who's foolin' who!

It's all set up kind of like what you'd expect a donair shop to be. Fortunately, everything is still new and clean. Hopefully it stays that way. Very friendly server on call there. She quickly whipped up our order and we walked out happily with our treasure.

First bite? Yeah. Not bad. Really not bad. It's been a while, but it sure tastes like Halifax to me. Is it even fresher and better? Not sure, but who's complaining? It's a cheap eat when you need to fill your belly fast.

Thumbs up for this one. If I had another donair craving, yup, I'd stop by here.

Most unique Donairs in the city

Its seems now a days everyone owns a donair store or every awful pizza place (usually awful.. because it means the pizza place doesn't specialize in pizza) makes their own variation of the donair. I gave the food a 4 because its the most unique donair in the city. I love my donair dude donair with everything except cheese and olives. They add pineapple which adds a whole new level of sweet to the donair and i love a hint of sweet in savoury foods. They have three sauces that they put on (which the owner says he makes fresh on site everyday) After your Donair is assembled it goes on a panini press to give it another level of crispiness. The only negative thing i could say about this place is they dont cut the chicken from a revolving skewer, but on second thought maybe that's a good thing (I've seen donair places that have flies landing on their exposed meats, especially in the summer... eek!) And speaking of clean, this place is spotless. I love when you can see people making your food and everything is clean and tidy. I definitely didn't have to do a double take on how the food was being prepared. Service got a 4 because they remember who you are and what you like. They're friendly and courteous and don't mind when you ask questions about the sauces and the donair. I love people who have a passion for the food they make and i would recommend this place to anyone that wants a good donair. Ambience is blah.. but really with all the other good points who cares.

Delicious Donairs!

I love coming to Donair Dude; sure the name is a little on the hokey side but they make an amazing donair and they use fresh ingredients. They also take the time to grill the donair which really helps with keeping it all together since it can get a little messy. The staff are always very friendly even if they are jammed pack (which is usually the case). And you have to figure that they are putting out a great product if there is still a small line up at 4 in the morning!

Another great thing; a large is only $6.00... enough meat there to give you the sweats!
