Another great BBT

I'm no connoisseur of bubble tea compared to friends but I know what I like, and this location probably ranks in the top 5 for me.

I usually order one of my favourites here, the lychee slush with coconut jelly. Nice blend, strong lychee flavours complete with fruit chunks and soft and not overly chewy tapioca balls when I do get them. Their milktea variety are also well made.

While there is plenty of space to stand around only a few tables are set up. It's not particularly clean nor inviting inside though many regulars hang around there and I can't argue with success, the drinks are worth coming here for.

Bubble Tea in General - I Don't Get It...
By lindarose of Vancouver (172 Reviews)
Submitted Wednesday, March 10, 2010 - 9:57pm [Dine in]

I tried Bubble Tea for the first time today.

I'll admit off the top that I don't quite "get" the Bubble Tea phenomenon. I pay almost 3 bucks for some slush or almost four bucks for some milk tea on ice. Don't get me wrong - I don't "get" the whole Starbucks $5 Frappacino thing either....

Anyways onto my review of this particular establishment:

Food - Banana Strawberry Slush x 2 and Earl Grey Milk Tea x 2. The server explained that the Earl Grey Tea was actually part (or whole??) some other tea. I wasn't sure what she meant. If they advertise "Earl Grey" then it SHOULD BE EARL GREY. Note - the Earl Grey was priced $1.00 higher than the other teas. I like the subtle Bergamot flavour of Earl Grey. I thought my "Earl Grey Milk Tea" was okay - but it was not "Earl Grey". The slushes were okay tasting. They reminded me of Orange Julius (in the days of yore before they started just tasting like sugar water). However, I noticed a slightly chemical aftertaste in the slush. I guess they are using powders and syrups with chemicals... This is probably true to all Bubble Tea though.

Service - I mentioned the thing about the attempted explanation about the Earl Grey. Other than that - the server was nice enough.

Value - I can't compare this to other Bubble Tea places - but, frankly, I paid $13 for four drinks. They were not made with fresh ingredients. I think that this whole concept of paying this much for a beverage which is isn't fresh - or contains alcohol ;) - overpriced. But again, I don't "get" it.

Ambiance, the place was clean enough, but I can't see myself wanting to linger for any length of time.

I think I will spend my $13 on some Dim Sum or a bowl of Pho to share with my kids somewhere rather than sweetened milky water and slush.

My new Spot

I've been coming here more often as school started picking up.
And i have officially deemed this spot as my designated study spot
Its very comfortable to sit and read in, especially the new couches.
The drinks there are great too, very tasty, and for 2.75 its easy on the wallet.
The people there are nice, they never give me looks for staying hours just playing around on the wifi. They rather seem welcoming.
This place is really good for study, relaxing or meeting with a few buddies.

They get the drink order wrong 50% of the time

I would like this place more if they actually got my order right!
I've ordered slushes multiple times and almost half the time it comes out too liquidy and not the proper icy slush texture. It's very annoying. Also even if you say no sugar or half sugar some drinks come out cloyingly sweet probably because they use frozen fruits in syrup. I've only returned my drink for a new one once when a no-milk drink came out with milk and they weren't gracious about it. Their prices are almost $4 which isn't cheap for bbt. They no longer have stamp cards as well so it's poor value.

I’ve been a booster juice/orange Julius guy as long as I could remember, but those places were getting me broke! So I took my friends advice and tried the phenomenon known as bubble tea.
The place is quite close by and it’s really nice inside so I decided to go there. The drinks were delicious, unique, and well priced. I got tones of Jelly and pearls in my drink, I definitely got more than my moneys worth.
The owner lady was great too! The drink was a tad too sweet so I requested some water so I could mix in. She actually made me a new drink and told me to ask for less sweet next time, you can tell she really cares for her customers.

New Workers?

I usually go to this bubble world tea house with my friends after school, but we haven't gone in a while and recently we went a couple times around 4. I think they have new workers there because the service became really slow and the drinks don't taste the same. There's also an older lady that's working there too... >:\ I find that kind of strange because bubble world usually has younger workers and it gives off a different vibe. I used to love this place and there drinks were very good. I don't recommend you go there unless you can recognize the workers who have been working there for a while.

A Great place to get take out Bubble Tea
By ILuv2Eat of Burnaby (2 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, July 5, 2009 - 4:27am [Dine in]

This bubble world location is one of the older locations of its franchisees. The bubble tea is always good, even on different days with different bartenders. I have not heard any complaints from my friends either.

I gave it 5 for service because this is more like a take out place, so speed is all it matters. And they deliver that well.

Value: I don't know where you can get bubble tea for $2.75 other than this one.
Overall a well recommended place for your take out bubble tea.

Simply Great

Bubble world is my pit stop.
I casually come here when I'm thirsty or even when I am bored and want to hang out with some friends.
I like coming here the most after playing some football or going to the gym.
The drinks here are exhilarating.
Usually I come and buy a mango smoothie, and all I can say is that the drink is great.
The sweetness level is perfect, the pearls are nice and chewy, and the best part is that its only $3.75.
I find that the drinks from here are unmatched by any other bubble tea locations.
Maybe, it is because I am used to the taste, but its just not the same if I get it any where else.
I've been coming here for the last 7 years and the prices have remained consistent as has the flavor.
Overall this joint has been getting revamped of late, a lot of changes, but they are for the good.
They redid the interior, added some couches, and its been good.
I give this place a two thumbs up.
I highly recommend it.

I drink bubble tea, breath and eat, in that order.
I love the drink, the chewy jellies, mixed with the wonderful flavor of tea and fruit. This is the perfect drink.
And no one does it better than bubble world does.
I come here often with the girlfriend, this is the ideal place to come.
Not only are the drinks perfect but the ambiance is great as well.
There are some odd drinks on the menu, but trust me they taste better than they sound.
I come here religiously, it is part of my daily routine.
And i suggest that people give this place a try, they will not be disappointed.

Still a Favourite

Been to plenty of BBT places and this is still one of my faves. They have the best selection and they give you more pearls than anyone else. They're fast too.
The only thing I don't understand is why the regular tea house has the tax included in the price, but the restaurant in Burnaby charges tax on top??
