Food:
Their smoothies taste amazing, although on the watery side. Try their Ranger cookies! Delish!
Service:
Typical take-out service. I don't understand why there's an option for 'tips' when you pay by cc/debit though - it's just a take-out counter.
Value:
It's not cheap, but it's in line with the other food options in the SUB.
I loved this place when I was a UBC student and still stop by whenever I'm nearby. It's in the Student Union Building (SUB), which is conveniently near the bus loop.
All the cookies I've tried are great, but I especially recommend the Java Nut (chocolate chunks, walnuts, and a subtle coffee flavour) -- Yum! Goes well with a latte. Also the Cranberry Oatmeal -- even if you don't normally like oatmeal cookies. A friend of mine swears by the Reverse chocolate chunk (chocolate cookies with white chocolate chunks).
The muffins are also good. One thing I don't recommend are the cupcakes--they tend to be burnt on the sides of the "muffin top" and the icing has a taste of cheap margarine.
The chocolate chunk cookies are to die for! They also have a good selection of teas and coffees. If you are at UBC, try it out! I also like their banana chocolate chip muffins, although these are not as good as the cookies, of which they have a pretty good selection. I always take my friends there for the cookies!
Try to go well before they close, however, as the selection becomes dwindled the closer you get to closing.
Blue Chip Cookies probably has the best cookies in all of UBC and the area around it. There are many options to choose from, and even the vegan options are good. It’s a great place to enjoy a snack during a busy day (its in the SUB at UBC btw).
The staff is quick and at times, friendly. The only problem is that it is always filled with students and there is a long line waiting to order, especially during the late and early parts of the day when people are going to class.
