Absolutely the best buttermilk fried chicken I have ever had. Bar none. Came with a ridiculously delicious gravy, hand cut crispy fries and really fresh coleslaw. The chicken was boneless... I was expecting the usual restaurant fare, but this was outstanding. My husband had the Cobb salad and said it was super fresh and really great.
Great pub atmosphere... I would not hesitate to go back.
Arrived at one o'clock on a Saturday afternoon to an empty house. No wonder. Order the tomato and avocado Benedict and my husband ordered corn beef half which didn't come with toast so that was extra. She assured us that it was a huge portion and that toast wasn't necessary but it's a good thing he ordered it because the rest of the meal was comparable to dog food. Mashed up leftover baked potato with crumbled bits of smokey corn beef. Dry and tasted burnt and was not a huge portion. My husband is diabetic and couldn't wait for a re order so he choked down two pieces of toast which assured me was edible. My Benedict had good flavor but was ice cold because the tomato and avocado was ice cold. Avocado I can understand but how hard is it to drop a tomato slice on the grill for a minute. Anyways we hardly ate anything but were not offered a discount or even an explanation. I have been a cook for over thirty years and can tell you there was a lot of TLC in this food.......total lack of care. Total dissapointment.
