Porto Fino Restaurant specializes in Italian, Greek and Pizza.
If you're a pizza lover like me then you'll want to try this tiny little place in Newton. It's got just a few tables for dining in and it appears that most of their business is for take-out. I've never tried their souvlaki or pasta but one of these days I probably will. The reason we tend to go back though is the pizza... which weighs a ton due to the ridiculous amount of meat and cheese they pack on the pie. It really is one of the better pizzas I've ever had and it tastes even better reheated the next day. This is definitely our number one choice for pizza in the area.. yum! Oh, and the folks that run place seem really nice too.
Bad food followed by even worse service. I would never go back. Food was sour and tasted sour like it had gone bad. Owners argued and yelled at each other when I asked for the bad food that I didn't eat to be taken off the bill. As I paid for the bill they continued to yell at each other about how I had the audacity to return the food and how they now how to take it off the bill. I will never go here again and advise anyone looking forward to a nice night not to be ruined by the lack of respect for others the shop owners have pls try a different place. Seriously it just ruined our night.
This is our GO TO place for real pizza. No 2 for 1 here. They use lots of quality ingredients and real cheese. If you get it to go the pizza is surprisingly heavy. They have a nice front end with a handful of tables so we usually eat in and always take some home. I've tried the pasta but it's the pizza that shines.
they are always busy on the delivery end so you have to be willing to wait. But the pizza is really delicious. Sadly not impressed with the calamari so I will never order calamari from here again. Their pizza crust is one of the very best that I ever had and the toppings are usually generous and fresh. I have not ordered anything else from here so can't comment further on the food. I do find their pricing for pizza to be on the high end and they do charge for delivery.
This place is run by a wonderful greek family. The food is yummy, from the pizza to the greek meals. I haven't tried the pasta so I can't comment on it. We usually order the chicken souvlaki special so there is a great price for two meals (take out only).
There are 5-6 tables so if you want to eat in, you can. The kids get very excited when they know we are having greek because this is the only place we go to.
We tried this place for the first time on Saturday and it blew us away!!
We ordered the Chicken Parmesan. Let me say this is the biggest chicken breast I have ever seen in my entire life! It was about 8x8 inches big; if not bigger. Covered with cheese and tomato sauce.
I subbed my meal for the roast potatoes and greek salad for an extra $4
My boyfriend stayed with the linguine noodles its supposed to come with. The noodles come with lots of flavour sauce tomatoes in it with beef. The portions are just HUGE. They come in each their own container - I had more then enough food for 2 days.
It was so flavourful and including delivery with 2 chicken parmesans the $4 sub charge and 6 cans of pop it came to $48 and we gave the delivery guy a $5 tip totalling $53. The wait for the delivery was an hour but that was okay they quoted us that on the phone.
MONEY WELL SPENT.
Great place, I highly recommend.
