We have been going to Govardhan Thal for last three years. Very good food for the price you pay. For less than $10 per person (including taxes), you get all you can eat THALI all day. Their menu usually includes more than one sweet, two to three farsans, four to five veggies, kadhi, dal, rice, pickles, papads, rotali, puri and a couple of different varities. Sitting is bit tight and very little room to move around but why complain when the price is right. Rotali is made in front of you- just ask for hot rotali and enjoy. They have been selling FAFDA (Ganthia) and they are the best to take home. We have tried FAFDA from a couple of other locations but theirs are handmade and thin (as opposed to machine made and thick). Their KHAMANS are also the best in town. Hands up for the lovely couple who run this restaurant.
They opened a new location at Albion mall. Food was not that bad. Not that good either. Not warm enough..vada & idli were so cold and not soft at all. Khichdi a bit dried out. and so on....
We been there at about 7:45 PM and almost done within one hour or so. In the mean time many other diners were waiting outside for their turn. Surprisingly, the owner himself comes to us and informed us in a rude way that if we are done we have to leave as others are waiting. Isnt it rude and shameful for this business ?
I would not go there again neither I recommend my Gujarati friends...
