best Taiwanese chicken nuggets in town

I think they might have the best Taiwanese chicken nuggets in town. It is so good and it's boneless. Yummy! I will definitely go back for more.

Service is very friendly. Price is fair. It costs a little less than most Taiwanese restaurants but most Taiwanese restaurants, like bubble tea cafes, have better interior decoration.

The decor could be better. If they just fix the interior a little, they would attract more customers. It's a small place, it shouldn't cost much to beautify it a little.

The food there is good but pretty home-cooked,which to me isn't an asset. Cause if I want to taste some home cooked Chinese food, I'll just make some myself. The whole point of dine out is to have something special or hard to cook at home or really different flavor.
The place is in a plaza, first floor. You have to walked a little bit before you can find it.
Price is just like any other Taiwanese resturant.
We had chicken nuggets, oyster pancake, hotpot and black pepper beef condo.
I like the mini hotpot the best, and beef condo the least.

Love the Sunway Squid!

Yes, this is my first review. I really like to give a good rating to this restaurant. The Sunway squid is the best I had, I really would recommend it to anyone who likes the San Wen (Three Flavors) dish. The drinks are not bad, you get it half-priced in the afternoon along with an entree. However, the food came a bit slow, thats why I only rated it 4/5. The service was incredible, so I still finished my meal with joy even after a little wait for the food. Please try this restaurant!

Hidden Gem for Taiwanese Food in Richmond

Richmond as we all know it, has tons of Taiwanese Restaurants. In all of my experiences on majority of them, this one is the only one that I don't mind going a few times a week.

Before I go into more details, I need to state that this place is a home-cook type restaurant. It serves home-cook like meals without any "chemicals" like MSG or baking sodas. They have a small kitchen with 2 persons working at best, if you are in a hurry, try someone else. Otherwise, this place offers a lot of value.

The most famous dish for this place is the deep fried chicken (pop-corn chicken), for $4.50, you get a large plate that can be shared with at least 3 persons. They are also famous for their mini-hotpot, they use some delicious ingredient and you will go for that last drop of soup. The menu says the soup is good for your health!

Most entree items come with 2 side-dishes; depends on the days, they can serve some good appertizer or just a small mandarin orange. But hey, what more do you want for a little less than $9 that can fill you up?

Due to the small, family owned restaurant; I do not expect top notch service for the price they charge. As long as food is good, served hot and on-time, I will gladly tip the waiter/ess.

Sunway also does delivery, so if you are lazy to drive, call them.

I am a happy repeat customer for months with this place. They don't have the pretty renovations or the variety of dishes compare to other places; but Sunway gives you a warm, decent home-cook meal that is quite original Taiwanese for a good price.

Good Taiwanese Food

This is a great find. Its good food in a sit-down restaurant with food court prices. In other words, its cheap and good. For starters we had the fried chicken nuggets (deep fried chicken pop in the menu) and the deep fried pork intestines. Both were yummy. For the main, we had the Barbq Pork Meal with rice. (slices of deep fried pork belly and topped with sweet garlic sauce.) and the 3 spice squid with rice. The 3 spice squid is a bit spicy for me. I generally have a low tolerance for spices. I should have heeded the spice warning on the menu. But other than that everything was great. Those 4 items costs us only 23 dollars excluding tips.

I will definitely go back and try their other offerings. I heard that their Taiwanese beef noodle soup is excellent too. Sometimes its kinda hard to put in a good review on a restaurant knowing full well that it will attract more customers which could mean a line-up. But on the other hand you want the restaurant to succeed so you can continue enjoying your meals there. Oh well..

cold dingy restaurant

You need to wear a ski jacket to dine in this restaurant because they are too cheap to turn on heater. It's a tiny restaurant, it should be easily warmed up but it's freezing inside the restaurant. It's as cold as sitting outdoor. Since it's really cold inside, food comes to the table and gets cold right away. I don't enjoy my food at all because they are either lukewarm or get cold in a second. Nothing is worse than eating cold food in a cold room on a cold raining day. I can barely tell it tastes good or not because I am freezing and the food is too cold to warm me up.

Service is ok but it's slow. There's no one else waiting for food except my group but it still takes a long time to get our food. Imagine that! You are cold and starving and food doesn't come.

I don't see a lot of value in this because I am very unhappy about the freezing room temperature, lukewarm or cold food and long wait to finally get our food. It's painful to dine here.

By the way the seating is horrible. It's a cramped room and you can not move freely. If they don't want to invest a little on winter heating and comfortable seating, they should brand it as a take out window. Just let people take out without sitting through the torture. Don't even put tables and chairs there, it's very uncomfortable anyway.

I think the chef is just a home cook. He doesn't know anything about how to cook efficiently in a restaurant kitchen. It's too slow.

I will not be back.
