Not a bad place...

I went to Pisces for lunch. The seating area is very clean, and well kept. I was also pleased that they did not have cheesy music playing (or any music/radio for that matter). I thought that the meal was a bit on the high side for 2 pieces cod (just above $11.00) -- they should have added more fries or a third piece of fish. More tartar sauce would have been great -- though they will give you extra. I didn't like the ketchup -- gross. It had an odd taste to it. Otherwise the place was good.

I've been to Pisces several times now and what I find the best about their fish and chips is that it's tasty and crispy without being greasy. You'd think that being fairly close to Steveston they would have a tough act to follow with fish & chips, but I honestly find the food better at Pisces than at the big name places in Steveston. Portions are bigger, fish is tastier, batter is less greasy and the service is in a different league. The owners are always willing to have a chat and they are very friendly and remember you when you go back the second time. Ambiance is nothing special, but is nothing to complain about either.

Best Fish & Chips in Richmond

I used to go to Dave's in Steveston but their service is simply not up to par. Went on-line and did some searching and found Pisces Fish & Chips in Terra Nova. Brilliant!

The place is very clean and neat. It felt comfortable. Manjit was extremely warm and asked if she could recommend her top dishes on the menu. I am thrilled as I love to hear recommendations 'staff picks'.

We had the halibut, chips and coleslaw. Everything is home-made so freshness is key and the coleslaw was the freshest I have ever had. We also tried the butter chicken ~yummy!

Last but not least, Manjit enticed us into trying the mango pudding. I have to say, it was delicious yet light. This has been the best lunch to-date during work hours.

Will definitely make this place a frequent visits!

Excellent fish & Indian cuisine

I've been to their restaurant several times and never been disappointed. Typically, the fries rank very high in terms of homemade quality. There was one time the french fries weren't up to par but still better than most places. I usually have the traditional fare of halibut and fries but I asked for the fish to be lightly battered (all depends how you like it). My wife usually has the grilled halibut which is also excellent. The coleslaw is also very tasty.

We've sampled the Indian cuisine on a couple occassions. The butter chicken is very good. I find at a lot of Indian restaurants, the butter chicken is way too rich and heavy but not here. We've also tried the lamb curry which was very good, not too gamey. The naan bread is a great side dish and seems to be always made fresh per order. The real winner is the mango pudding. I've had mango pudding from different places in Vancouver and around the world and this is the best I've tried.

The service can sometimes appear a little abrupt when things are busy but is usually friendly and accommodating

good fish

The fish here is really tasty and not greasy, but as the previous poster said, the portions aren't always big enough for the price ($11.95 for 2-piece Halibut). And it always seems like my husband gets way bigger pieces than I do. I'm sure its my imagination, but sometimes I feel like they think I don't need as much as he does. The fish is all I care about, I don't go for the side dishes, so I feel I should get my money's worth.

The fries are not that great, they taste like they were made from old musty potatoes. I don't agree that the coleslaw is the best anywhere, although it is good.

Don't make the mistake of going on a Friday night, you won't get easily get a table.

What a pleasant, warm welcoming, delicious place to visit. One of the best fish n'chip places I have ever visited. The coleslaw is absolutley the finest antwhere on earth. If even you are not a fan of coleslaw you must try it and take some home as a side. I bring 3 or 4 large home and when we attend dinner functions I always include pisces coleslaw. The fish is very fresh always done to perfection. Ever one we know that has had the pleasure raves about this place. Even if you are not from Richmond, please drive out and try. After dinning tale a lovely stroll up to the water absolutley beautiful
