I used to go here regularly when I lived in the area. Their pho is really good, and their pho ga is the best I've had so far and I've been to a lot of pho/vietnamese restaurants. The service is exceptional, but come with cash, they only take cash. A few nights I have gone there but the bank was closed so I couldn't take out cash, they were nice enough to tell me just to pay the next time I come in. Hard to find service and staff that value their customer's like that!
Went there today, service was good. And the environment was nice, a lot of plants, television to watch. The food wasn't spectacular, at least the pho that I had wasn't the tastiest pho. Also, since there was no option for meatballs, beef, and tripe I just asked if they could add tripe to the meatballs and beef. Figured this wasn't a big deal, but when I got up to pay the bill they charged an extra two dollars for the tripe, was slightly confused by that since they have other pho's listed that are more loaded. Anyways, I won't be going back there. If you decide to go make sure not to ask if they can change the order around a bit it will cost you, and an extra 2 dollars on an 8 dollar bowl of pho is quite a bit.
Anyways, I love pho and Vietnamese rfood and have been to many around the city. So far the best I've been to is Pho Express Angkor Noodle house close to Denman and Robson. Specifically their beef noodle stew was really good. Also, another good restaurant is Pho 24 Express around Kingsway and Olive Ave. Their pho is good, their pho ga is the best I've had, and the staff is really nice. They only take debit, but one night the bank was closed and I was craving pho and they just told me to pay next time I come in. Needless to say, I've been generous with my tips ever since!
