Was taken by friends to Wazubee and I have to say that I really enjoyed the food, drinks and the atmosphere and have been back 5 times.
The menu is west coast fusion with all organic ingredients and the cocktail menu is really good. Lots of specialty drinks and delicious martinis, I love the coffee martini .
Service was great, the atmosphere is part lounge/club part restaraunt and the open front gives you that connection with ;The Drive' that is missing from lots of other places.
They even have dj's spinning just loud enough that dinner is fun and funky.
A great place to eat, drink and groove. Highly recommended!
Features a big 100 table room that is fairly busy during lunch giving you that Hong Kong feel.
The carts are fast and the food is pretty good and not too greasy like some other Dim Sum houses.
The only thing is they charge white people more money than they do asians. I have been there with all asian friends and the meal was pretty cheap and have been there with a smaller amount of people who were all white and the bill was higher.
The menu is pricey but the meals are decent except dont order the oysters. They were 3.25 a pop and were really tiny. The glob of hot sauce was bigger than the actual oyster. I felt really ripped off. The steak was good but the appy's are really small (think 2-3 bites for $10+).
I would have to say that it might be a good place to take people from out of town who have never seen Granville Island but it is clearly an expensive tourist trap.
Service was however excellent.
Was a big fan of the original Rodneys in Toronto and the Vancouver version did not let me down.
Sat at the bar drank a couple beers and ordered 2 dozen assorted oysters for a friend and I. Excellent selection and excellent recommendations by the staff. These guys know thier stuff amd its fun to watch them shuck the oysters right in front of you.
The atmoshere was perfect, think dock meets inside of sailboat and the Hamilton street setting really adds to a great experience.
The food is pricey but you get what you pay for.
Perfect!
We sat at the bar and where treated to 5 of the most lifeless deadbeat sushi chefs I have ever met. Talk about zero personality, not even a hello, a smile, joke, "where are you folks from", nothing!.
The waiter was great but when I sit at an expensive sushi bar I expect an experience, Zen really let me down.
Now the sushi was fairly good, not great but it was still overpriced.
Ok so I am aware that just because you are in Whistler you are going to get hosed but this was ridiculous.
For 4 people to get full and drink a couple saki's it was over 450 dollars and we didnt even have wine.
Went a couple times with a guy from work for lunch.
The food was awful. The mixed greens salad was actually just cheap lettuce with nothing in it and such a small amount of dressing you coudnt even taste it.
The meal was dry, cold, tasteless fish with no sauce.
I sent it back and got another bad meal in return. Stale bread, cold coffee. Awful!
Moxies Richmond is awful but I guess thats what you get when some snot nosed 20 year old kid is 'cooking' for you and some 19 year old bimbo in a mini skirt is serving you.
I recommend family owned from now on as these chain places are dropping the ball big time.
Good food, service and the loud and busy atmosphere that makes a fun dim-sum experience.
The food is tasty and filling with a great selection of the tradition dim-sum dishes. The carts come really fast, no waiting, just eating.
I have been to Hong Kong and this was pretty close to what you get there in terms of atmoshere and menu.
Please Note - The review below this is total garbage because Richmond is in fact South of Vancouver and not West of Vancouver. Did you even eat at the Pink Pearl? Get your directions straight pal.
Was there for a birthday party.
The food is presented in an artsy manner with only a few bites per plate. It was tasty but the portions were way too small and I didnt feel that I got alot of value. Food was a bit salty too but it was tasty. I left hungry after spending $40 on food.
The atmoshere was ok but it could have easily been better (candles on table, put something on the blank walls!)
It seemed that there wasnt a real comfortable 'vibe' to the place and we left sooner than normal because the seating is kind of uncomfortable.
I am sure that it can only get better as it is a new place.
Nevermind can be hit or miss.
I have had some excellent meals there and some that I have sent back (ketchup in pad thai? C'mon!).
The bar is a really neat place to sit and have some drinks, great atmosphere. Great hockey watching place.
The downside - Garbage music, I mean really bad (think Fine Young Cannibals meets "Im too sexy for my shirt"- BAD!) and the washroom was stinky.
Like HElls Kitchen Nevermind shines as a place to get drunk, not eat.
Great atmosphere, tunes and really friendly staff.
Food - Pizza is good, thin crusted. You can really taste the toppings but it is not the best I have ever had.
The rest of the menu is just so-so. I have had some really bad meals there so I stick to the drinks and the pizza.
More of a spot for drinking than eating. Great patio.
I work near Oscars and have eaten there 2-3 times per week for the past 2 months.
Good selection of food on the daily specials menu, really inexpensive but really good and with nice portions (2-10 bucks for everything from burgers to steak).
The wing night is good too. Wings are a bit on the small side but who cares for 19 cents you cant go wrong.
