Went to Aurora last Friday with an old friend. He'd been before and had enjoyed it; it was my first visit. The room was intimate and warm. The tables seemed a bit wider than average which was a nice change. Our server recommended the flat iron steak which was delicious! We shared the halibut cheeks to start which were also excellent. The service was good though not exceptional. The music was at a nice level for both conversation and atmosphere. Would definately go back.
Was in solo and sat at the bar and was really pleased with the treatment. You always hear of single diners being ignored. Definately not the case here. Service was attentive and informative. The beers are great, but the bellevue kriek was a little sweet for me. Moule frites "vin blanc" were yummy and the phyllo lamb was really good. (had a few martini's can't remember the details on dessert) Will definately be back.
In for dinner last week and had a great time. My gf had the 3 course menu. Spinach salad was tasty with blue cheese and pumpkin seeds. Jambalaya was really good with lots of sausage and not too much spice. I had her pecan pie which was delicious. My dinner started with the cajun mussels. Wow, great flavour, spicy cream and really fresh mussels. Voodoo ribs for the main. Great! Tender, moist and the sauce rocks. Service was friendly and attentive, but not hovering. I really liked the room with it's paintings and copper bar. Only complaint, the room was loud (it was busy though).
