Spice Up Indian Cuisine4191 Main Street, Vancouver
FAB new indian food on main street!
Submitted Wednesday, August 31, 2011 - 9:40pm [Take-out]

I have lived in the neighborhood for 15+ years and always notice and am interested when i see new restaurants or shops. Spice Up is perfect for main street as we haven't had any great indian restaurants and let me tell you...they are GREAT. I ordered for pick-up and didn't wait a long time. I had the butter chicken with an order of rice and the veg pakoras. The butter chicken was actually really light and lovely. Even though it is one of my favorites, I don't eat it very often because i find it too heavy. But this really was light but packed with flavor at the same time. Rice-perfect. And the pakoras were crispy on the outside but nice and soft in the middles and the sauce...oooh the sauce! Beautiful. The ONLY thing i can say is that the portion size for the pakoras with a littttle on the small side. I left my number when ordering, and one of the owners actually called me to see if i liked the food and honestly wanted feedback. The couple that have opened this little place are super sweet and they deserve to have a successful restaurant...not because they are sweet, but because the food really is beautiful!

Solly's Bagelry4071 Main Street, Vancouver
$17 for two bagel sandwiches??!!
Submitted Monday, January 26, 2009 - 4:56pm [Dine in]

I have lived in the community, and Solly's has had bad service for 10+ years. I go occasionally to buy bagels, but that's usually it. My husband and I were doing some local shopping and decided to grab lunch to take home. Two smoked turkey bagel sandwiches. That's it! $17 bucks. Two little sub par sandwiches that weren't even correctly prepared as ordered, a handful of stale chips and two soggy pickles. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!!
That was our last lunch at Sollys!!
