Absolutely Divine
Submitted Sunday, August 27, 2006 - 3:57pm [Dine in]

This place has the most amazing food. Everything I have ordered is excellent. The service is decent and most of the time above average, the employees are always nice and very polite. I like the Denman location the best but they are all nice and each one is decorated differently and have a different feel. My favorite dish is the lunch special of the Gado-Gado salad and the chicken satay but I would suggest going in a big group, ordering a lot and sharing everything to get the best experience of this amazing restaurant.

Happy Hour
Submitted Sunday, August 27, 2006 - 3:36pm [Dine in]

We frequent this place quite often for the Happy Hour deal. They have good food for a great price and that keeps bringing us back. The service is decent but usually slow, and the ambiance is alright especially for groups.

Very Poor Etiquette
Submitted Sunday, August 27, 2006 - 3:29pm [Dine in]

We had a party of 8 when we arrived at Brown's around 9pm on a Friday night. We were not able to get a table seated together, which was fine, we split our group up and sat at 2 separate tables. The waitress promptly came up to our table and bluntly informed us she would be putting a 15% tip onto our bill because of our large party, ignoring how rude she was about it, we pointed out that we were no longer a large group and were now 2 separate tables. She got angry with us and then the manager, Kevin, came over and told us he needed to "Educate us on our tipping etiquette...". He was very rude and after we explained the situation to him he understood and said that he would not charge us the 15% as we were indeed 2 separate groups who could not even converse with each other.

Aside from the very poor, and rude service, I found that the food was average. I ordered the Yam fries and chicken quesadilla combo which seemed like an alright deal because the yam fries alone was the same portion that came with the quesadilla but for for $2 more I also got the chicken quesadilla.

The decor of the place was great, aside from the scary old family photos they had on the wall the place had a good feel and nice design.

Summary: The food was alright but I could get the same thing elsewhere for cheaper, the employees were very rude, the decor of the place was great and I would never go back.
