Went there my first time and would be my last visit there.
Food -
The food was nothing special to me, the only thing special is probably their 'soup' and BBQ. and you order the sauce separately.
Service -
The service was quite good in spite of what's said in other comments.
I think it's the waiter/waitress that makes the difference.
Our waitress attended us with courtesy and promptness.
Value -
It's way too pricey in my opinion; and you drink more than you eat.
Ambiance -
The place was quite empty around 7pm during weekend. The decoration was good. clean.
Next time I'd have my hotpot with friends at home than going there again.
We hesitated to go to Hanako because of some of the reviews here. More expensive? Yes. Less quantity? Not really. Quality? About the same.
I don't know who wrote the price range ($30-45), it's too high. Unless you eat fancy or with a few other people.
We ordered smoked tuna salad, lunch boxes, Chirashi. the quantity was the same as we came here more than 6 months ago. Though the prices have gone up by around 15%, the quality was still good, and the quality is still better than most of the sushi restaurants in Surrey. They use ceramic plates and containers and not plastic which feels safer.
Would go there again, but there are better choices outside Surrey.

Food:
The dishes we ordered include their signature Wan luan pork hock, which is good with its sauce and the pork isn't too fatty. Oyster with Egg Pancake is not that good if you have tried it in Taiwan; not enough contents and they seem to chop the large oyster into smaller pieces.
Service:
Courteous service attitude. But we had to wait awhile before a waiter attended us with tea, slower than other restaurants.
Value:
The prices are within good range, they have combos too.
Ambiance:
First at the entrance outside the restaurant, there's a disgusting smell but we assume it's from the sewage cuz once we're inside the smell's gone.
