meh food. worse service.
Submitted Friday, August 16, 2013 - 11:06pm [Dine in]

First and last time here. Stay away from the sunomono salad (No flavour just watery).the gyozas areally soggy and 'off' tasting. Rolls were alright, probably the best thing we'd ordered... until we found a long black hair in the MIDDLE of one. When we said we'd like to send it back they took it and said Sorry, yet didn't bring a new one or offer anything else. (Nobody at my table had long dark hair by the way, and it had been rolled into the roll. ).
When we received our bill we were shocked to see we were charged for it even though we had only eaten 2 pieces. The server argued with us and refused to take it off saying it wasn't their hair. I work in a restaurant, this is not customer service and it was so offensive. Such a simple thing. None of the chefs were wearing hair nets anyway, the place wasn't that clean, and the atmosphere was quite and very very hot.
If you can avoid this place, please do so.

The only good thing I have to say about it is the deals, how you can pick and choose 3 items off a large menu for $10.25.

We're pretty much family

We come here ALL the time, and we've been to every sushi joint in langley. This one is the BEST.

Every member who works there is always caring, and always looking to make your meal enjoyable.
Tea is always filled up. Food is great. Their spicy sauce is the tastiest, it actually has flavour and isn't just 'spicy'.

The chef/owner is the cutest, has the biggest smile on all the time and loves getting to know everyones names.

On top of it all, they do nice little gestures such as bringing rolls on the house, or even a complimentary pop.

Give it a try! You'll be hooked.

Best chinese food around the area. I order from here about once every two weeks. very flavourful dishes.
If you want a suggestion.. definitely try the ginger beef. never disappoints.
Wonton soup is also always great.

Have never had a meal inside. Interior is decorated nicely, but Chinese is always something that tastes better at home for some reason.

What a Treat!
Submitted Monday, February 11, 2013 - 12:00pm [Dine in]

Came back here again, and was happy to see some new items on the menu.
All I can say is you MUST try their short rib. So savory!
We got caught up talking with a table next to us who had also ordered it,
and they said they come once a week from Abbotsford just for it.

Some new photos have been hung (ones of the family owners) which is a nice
homey touch.

I don't remember if I've raved about it before either, but their chai tea is also delicious.

I know it's only february but open up your patio please!

Super cute!

Everything from the owners to the ambiance is perfect.
The menu is diverse.
My favourite picks are the 'Coconut Curry dish', it's only like $7 and can be shared by two people.
If you're into lattes try their 'Red Symphony'.

The inside is decorated nicely, with leather chairs, various seating areas, and photos.

The owners are very smiley, and seem happy everyday.

It's an awesome place to study, do work, or hold a business meeting.

Big thumbs up!

the people here are amazing.
the atmosphere is calming, and the food is incredible.
chicken is really well seasoned, and the lamb is super tender.

Family run I believe?
servers were very attentive. we were served by a middle aged man who was very
welcoming and friendly.
when my friends and I were done our meals, our server brought
us a homemade dessert on the house to try! (tres leches? ask for it!)

calamari is also really tasty. large amount per order, nicely seasoned.
if you haven't been, I highly suggest you go :)

Not Impressed
Submitted Tuesday, May 15, 2012 - 9:31pm [Dine in]

It was such a nice day today that a few girlfriends and I decided to try the Cactus Club right on English Bay.

We were told the wait for the patio would be 15-20 minutes, handed a buzzer,
and told to wait in the area. We waited 10 feet from where it was given to us for 30 minutes,
all the while the hostess kept glancing at us and away,
until she seated to 'walk in guys' who had not waited on the list.

I asked if they had a reservation, and she told me no, so I asked why we hadn't been buzzed yet.
She stuttered and said that she had been buzzing us for 5 straight minutes,
I told her it was in my hand the whole time and it hadn't buzzed,
yet she continued to argue and not accommodate us.
I even pointed to where we were sitting right next to her, and she did not acknowledge the fact.
Instead, said that we could wait for the next table,
and offered the idea that maybe our buzzer was broken.
(coincidently enough we heard her say 2 minutes earlier into her ear attachment that apparently they were 'down')

We shouldn't have, because when we did we were seated on the upper patio at a table that we had to
re-arrange ourselves to fit at. There was about 4 inches on one side to try and sit in, and on
the other side of the table the chairs couldn't even be pulled out. No help was offered from the hostess,
even when we asked what to do. Instead, the man at the table next to us had to interrupt his date and help move his table so we could move ours to sit down.

The ground was dirty, with receipts laying all under my feet.

For a nice restaurant, the first impression was terrible.

Our server was nice, however, and the food was good, along with a nice view.

I work in a nice restaurant too, I understand the service industry, and the image left for me from this location is not one I would recommend to friends.

Moxie's Classic Grill180 West Georgia, Vancouver
Fun Place to Be
Submitted Friday, May 4, 2012 - 8:49pm [Dine in]

My friend and I ate at this Moxies during the Canucks Playoffs.
There were tons of TV's, and it makes for a great place to have a classy dinner while watching the game!
It was a busy weekday in which we dined there, but our server appeared to have better things to do than serve her tables.

We watched her talk to friends and joke around by the bar, meanwhile we had empty glasses on our table and we were trying to wave her down.

The food tasted incredible though! I had what I believe they call a wasabi tuna-tartar? It was an appetizer, but it was big and filled me up.

All the prices on the menu appeared a little expensive for the amount you get. From what I can remember as well it is not organic or all locally-sourced, so I was confused with the jack-up on the pricing. The other day my husband and I ate at a restaurant called 'Beatniks Bistro', out in Fort Langley, and we got way better value for our food (which the server told us WAS organic, and a lot of it from Langley itself.) Maybe Moxies should revue how they price things, or maybe I just missed something here.

Not What I Expected from Yaletown
Submitted Friday, May 4, 2012 - 8:40pm [Dine in]

I'm a constant customer in Yaletown diners, and my husband and I decided on a date night on Chinois.

Upon walking in, the place was decorated with effort and class. Made more an elegant feel to a meal.

The food was good, but did not have a 'wow' factor. I would go back, I believe this place has potential.

Not My Cup of Tea
Submitted Friday, May 4, 2012 - 8:37pm [Dine in]

It was sad to see some prices raised, such as on their 'freckled lemonade,' an old favourite of mine.

To put it short, service wasn't great, and when we tipped under 10% (which we rarely ever do,) our server had the nerve to ask for atleast a 10% tip. How insulting and embarrassing on both parts.

Usually I enjoy this restaurant for a quick lunch, but do not believe I will be back to this location.

Late Night Meal
Submitted Friday, May 4, 2012 - 8:34pm [Dine in]

A few girlfriends and I shared a few appies and a couple drinks. I had their 'Longboard Lager,' which is one of the best beers I've had so far.

Their calamari was amazing, as it came with breaded jalapeƱos as well as squid!

It was near closing so we were a few of the only ladies in there, but it was nice to see our server pay attention
to us and not just stand around out of boredom.
