The food is AMAZING and the portion sizes are out of this world! The decor is hideous and the service is lousy but does the food ever make up for it.
The first time I went, my boyfriend and I made the mistake of ordering waaay too much as we are accustomed to Filipino restaurant's smaller portions. We ordered Sinigiang with pork, Pork BBQ, Lumpiang Shanghai, Calderetta, and Garlic rice and yes it was waay too much but we had lunch and dinner for the next two days. The food was so delicious, I was blown away, felt like I was back in the Philippines.
I will return to this restaurant regularly but for me to bring other people there, they will need to do something with their decor. It's in dire need of a makeover.
I love Foundation! So much that I find myself going several times a week and I don't live anywhere near nor am I anything close to a vegetarian.
I without fail get a nachos with guac and an order of spicy peenut. Both of which are heavenly. The Bentonio Burger and the Mingling Yams are great as well. And a trip to Foundation isn't complete without a pitcher of Sangria and dark chocolate Fondue.
The best part about Foundation is you feel great after, the food is just so good!
That said the service tends to suck, but the food really makes up for it. The atmosphere is one of a kind and really sets up your experience.
Foundation is delicious!
Okay, to enjoy any sort of Filipino food, you must understand the cuture first. I fortunately do and adore this restaurant.
I will admit the food is a little pricey for the portion size but the presentation of the food and the taste makes up for it. The Calderetta is awesome and the Adobo(Filipino staple)is exactly the way Adobo should be, just prettier.
The service is a bit different, but as I said before you must understand the culture to appreciate it.
I've returned to this restaurant many times and have yet to have a bad experience. Love Rekedos!
This is a great Jamaican restaurant. I went not expecting anything special and was pleasantly surprised.
The atmosphere is great and sets the mood. The food, oh my, the food was excellent! I had the Jamaican Jerk with pork tenderloin and my boyfriend had the Island Thyme Chicken and our friend that introduced us had his usual, the Kingston Quesadilla. All three were outstanding, the Jerk was perfect, not outrageously spicy or salty. Oh, and I can't forget the Johnny cakes, they are these delicious, almost doughut like balls that you spread butter onto. They are a great beginning to the meal.
Also the drinks were pretty and great and the list extensive.
I will definitely be returning and recommending it friends.
