Charlie Don't Surf15011 Marine Drive, White Rock
BEST on the strip

We were regulars at Charlie's and never had a bad experience there. We even ordered things not on the menu and loved the patio for people watching. The first time we went there I had a cracked tooth and my boyfriend called all the places on the strip to see if they could puree food for me, Charlie's was the only one that said no problem. I ordered the french onion soup and the chef served it to me, MMMMMM best ever it was made with parmesan instesd of mozza. The best part of going there was the awesome male waiter who always made us feel like VIP's and really knew how to give great service. The manager was also always attentive and went out of her way to make the experience enjoyable and promply corrected the one problem we ever had there. From previouse reviews i read I guess it depends on your server, we requested the same waiter every time. We now live in Abbotford and have driven all the way to white rock just to go to Charlie's.

overdone food

4 of us went on a saturday we were all dissapointed with the overcooked food which took 45 min to get and 1 persons order was a totally different thing than she had ordered. when we complained, the waiterss told us thats how the food is, and she walked away. we were not sure if she was going to do anything and waited 10 min before calling her over, she continued to make excuses, was argumentitive and offered to remove 20% off the bill so we were expected to pay for inedible food that only one of us ate. We asked for the manager and got more excuses from her as well.when we protested we were told we were being rude by another waitress, we were being assertive not rude... after waiting 15 more minutes we were told we could go, I guess we were persistant in saying we were not going to pay for food we did not eat no matter how many excuses were thrown at us. never the less we left hungary and shocked by the unprofessional conduct of the staff, I suggest just have a beer and enjoy the flooding river if you are hungary go next door to the boat house .
