I would fly to Japan for authentic Japanese - but Torarenbo is close enough....fresh food, good service. I would suggest you try their sushi and sashimi. Price is reasonable. I would definitely visit again when I crave for sushi. The waitress is amazing. She can explain and also recommend different types of dishes (specials for the day) and also drinks.

Service was extreme poor....the store owner (older gentleman) complained to us about being a busy night and that we were not supposed to ask for decent service. Hello? If business is busy, doesn't it mean good profits? We were billed 15% gratuity coz we are a group of four. Ridiculous. Desserts were not the greatest consider how many other choices we have in Vancouver. Sometimes it's not price that matters. I think I would rather spend my money some place else. At least I know the tips I pay is voluntary and it is to show appreciation for a decent customer service.
