Better than restaurant souvlaki
Submitted Friday, January 16, 2009 - 4:37pm [Dine in]

I've been going to Solav souvlaki for years mainly due to the price and quality of food. No matter how many fancy greek restaurants I've been to I've always come back to Solav for their souvlaki dinner becaust it doesn't make sense to pay 15-20$ for a far less superiour meal elsewhere. The portions are generous- a chicken souvlaki meal for $8.99 gets you one skewer, rice or fries, greek potatoe, yummy greek salad (i like the fact they use yellow, red and green peppers in theirs- not the normal green pepper only offering plus they don't skimp on the olives) pita, and a generous helping of tzaziki.

Oh and the fries- Have got to be some of the best fries in the lower mainland. Only ever made to order, like everything else on their menu, so they are always nice and hot, and the seasoning used on them is fantastic. I know fries sounds weird in a souvlaki place, but if you're like me and a potatoe person over a rice person then you'll appreciate this offering.

Seriously go here for the souvlaki and the fries and you won't be dissapointed. It can be a little difficult to find- next to Save on Foods in Metrotown, but trust me, once you find it you'll never miss it again.

P.S. only thing i'm not a fan of is the baklava- but who cares it's a souvlaki place after all.

Fun night out

Went with a group of girlfriends for dinner and drinks and we really enjoyed ourselves.

The option of having any of there specialty cocktails by the pictcher is great, not to mention the mojitos were fantastica (much better than Havana's on Commercial)

Food was surprisingly reasonably priced and portions were great for my group of girls.

Service wasn't specatular but it was attentive. Good selection of dessets. We enjoyed the chocolate fondue,, although it tasted slightly burned, but who cares, chocolate, fruit and angel food cake what more do you want.

Loved the band. Would definitely go back.

Recommended for a hot day when all you want is cold pitchers of creative drinks and some fantastice appetizers and ambience.

Just got back from a great brunch experience at John B's.

There Sunday brunch buffer is great and at only $16.99 it's am awesome deal. The service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere is always great.

I've been going to John B's regularly for the past year since discovering it and can assure you the service and ambience is always consistently great as is their fabulous Sunday brunch buffet.
