Josephine's Restaurant2650 Main St., Vancouver
Quite enjoyable.

My experience eating at Josephine's was enjoyable. They had a large selection of food and it didn't seem very pricey like Goldilocks. The atmosphere was okay. What I really liked were the large Philippine scenery photographs. The place is pretty simple. The food's average...but all in all...I enjoyed it. Not a bad place at all.

alright, i moved out here from the east coast...new jersey. and where i'm living at in washington, there aren't any filipino food places, much less filipinos. for the longest i've been having the biggest feen for some homestyle filipino food. my girlfriend suggested, "goldilocks" in vancouver. i've heard of the chain and was really excited to go there. so we get there 10 mins before closing (construction at the border tied me up). but why does it close at 7? i don't know! That's way too early. anyways, in a nutshell price for serving sizes don't add up. i'm used to getting a two item meal with rice, for something like 7-8 bucks. my total came out to 12 dollars! a stick of bbq for 3.25 each! that's ridiculous!! and i thought she was just givin me that price because I came in right before they were closing. i mean if they brought some famous filipino chef straight from the philippines...i'd dish that money out easy! but it was probably some filipino who just knows how to cook the dishes. i could've had my aunt do it! so......people, drop in for some of the pastries, have a cup of coffee or something too, but stay away from the hot food. it's just a rip.

Swiss Chalet Rotisserie & Grill20065 Langley Bypass, Langley
So Disappointed.
Submitted Wednesday, August 30, 2006 - 1:08pm [Dine in]

Title says it all. I'm so disappointed. Not in the food, mind you...but in the service I received there, at this location in Langley. From the beginning, when the server took our order, she was rude. I had asked for an extra side of sour cream when I ordered. And when our food was brought over, she told me I had to wait for it. (I had to wait...to put a little sour cream in a little cup. I don't understand. While she already made one for each for our meals. Making another one was harder?) She never came back to follow up to see how we were doing. (You know...that check-up you usually get at other food places.) I had to wave her down just to get our refills and my sour cream (that I was supposed to get earlier)...and the bill. And when she got my refill and sour cream, she just dropped it on the table. No conversation, like...,"oh sorry I dropped it", or anything, she just walked away. Blatantly rude. So unprofessional. She seemed fine with the other people she was serving...conversing and joking. So, it couldn't have been the "having a bad day" excuse. All in all, so disappointed. So if you need that Swiss Chalet fill, just take it to over to King George.
