Went there (foursome) Oct. 23/08. Wonderful place. Loved the atmosphere/ambience. All the staff, from receptionist to Chef, were outstanding. Our waitriess was pleasany, knowledgeable and very helpful - certainly knew her wines, and recommended an excellent Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Frac blend. I, and one of our companions, had the King Crab and Lobster Bisque = to die for - spicy, but wow! My wife had the superb Beef Tenderloin, done to perfection the way she wanted. I had the Duck confit = superb; our companions each chose the steak and fries = not a morsel left on the plate. For dessert, I had the Melting Chocolate Cake - it is what chocolate was made for. One of our companions had the Creme Brulee = heavenly. The final bill was most reasonable. We'll be back - often.

Four of us dined for the first time at Kirins' in the Starlight Casino complex on May 1/08. Our experience was unanimously superb. Right from walking in, the ambience is wonderful; the staff excellent; and the high level of cleanliness quickly evident. We had three table staff serving our needs, and they were all excellent ambassadors for the establishment; they were knowledgeable; friendly and at the same time unobtrusive. They helped us with our selection, and answered our questions.
We chose the sampler for four, at $30 each = an excellent choice for first-timers - the food was superb, and offered an excellent cross-section of what is available. There was far more food than the four of us could eat - next time we'll try the individual items. Where required, each dish came piping hot, with thoughtful, considerate suitable pauses after each second dish. The food was attractively presented and a wonderful taste experience. We were allowed all the time we needed, even though the Restaurant was busy.
Never having found just the right wine to go with Asian food, we opted for Sake, which was excellent.
No question, we will be back often. This restaurant is a fine addition to New Westminster's growing list of excellent eating establishments. Bravo!
