I was quite surprised to find this quaint French restaurant in the district known for it's high density of "international students". The food was delicious and the service was very personal and and impressionable.

Overall, the food was very good, especially the soup. And the waiter took his time to go through the menu and make sure that we had an enjoyable experience. As for ambiance, it made you feel like you were up on a mountain in somebody's B&B rather than on the busy streets of Robson. Highly recommended.

Poor Service Shines Through

This was a place that I like to go because the price is right and the food is good. For a HK style restaurant, it was definitely clean and the TV's were an added bonus.

However, time and time again, the service has been really poor. The manager does not seem to care. We found a METAL SPRING in our pork chop and all the manager did was take $3 off our meal! Can you believe the nerve???

I will not be back.

In short, it took 3 hours to eat a couple of burgers and steaks that were actually quite tasty. It would have been nice for the 6 of us to have been able to eat them at the same time. We didn't even recieve our drinks for the first hour even though we asked repeatedly.

I have been to several steakhouses in Vancouver where there have been problems with the food or service. I understand that things happen, steaks get overcooked and during busy times, service slows down. However, the indifference and rudeness of the staff left a bitter taste in my mouth. There wasn't even an apology didn't even apologize.

I wrote a letter to the manager and he replied by saying he was sorry and would send a couple of gift certificates. It's been a few months now, and I have not received them and when I emailed him again he would not respond.
