Good lunch, skip the appetizers
Submitted Friday, June 13, 2014 - 1:35pm [Dine in]

Went here for lunch the other day in my trip to Vancouver. One of my friends wanted to eat spicy Indian food and so we went to the one that was closest to us: Vij's Rangoli.

Its a nice place to get together and eat. It can get a little crowded thought, but that's with every Indian restaurant in general.

Overall, the food was good. I had the lamb curry and the mango lassi. The lamb was cooked well, and the lassi needed some improvement. It didn't taste like a lassi but more like a smoothie. I didn't like the pakoras that were served - they seemed to be a bit overcooked.

Burgoo3096 Main Street, Vancouver
Variety of food, slow service

Nice place, although service was slow. We had to wait a long time to get seated, but when we did, our server greeted us smiling and was polite and warm. Wish I had known how packed the place would be before going. Our food also took quite a bit of time to arrive.

Food was good, it all tasted well. My friends and I tried lots of things, in total we ate: nachos, ceviche, guacamole, grilled cheese and chicken sandwich, spinach pakoras, spinach salad, tomato soup, quinoa, and a salmon sandwich. I would especially recommend the quinoa and sandwiches. Warning: it was not cheap!

What I liked about this place, Burgoo, was that it provides you with all kinds of varieties of food, be it Latin American, North American, or Asian. You will find something you like on its menu. I was surprised by some of the contents myself.
