Scoop! Frozen Yogurt2050 West 4th Ave, Vancouver
Pretty Cool
Submitted Saturday, May 2, 2009 - 11:03pm [Dine in]

I came here back when it opened, and to be honest the shop was pretty plain with just tables and chairs and barely any decorations. This summer, the shop has improved a lot with local art, a better table setup and also games to chill/ take a break from shopping.
I really liked the yogurt here. Its refreshing and light and satisfying to say the least. I used to go to yogenfruz (sp?) for my frozen yogurt fix, but now scoop is definately my goto place. I've also tried blueberry and didn't like it.
Scoop has a lot of toppings from fresh fruit to candy and they also have alot of sauces like caramel, chocolate and Ducle de Leches (which i may say is incredible). They've also added new menu items from last year like waffle bowl, apple pie (as a topping), organic coffee/hot chocolate and tea. They also still have smoothies which are also good (they blend their yogurt with fruit)

I recommend for all to try!

Came here for my mom's birthday and it was a great fine dining experience.
Food: The parents had the tasting menu which they enjoyed. I tried some of their sweet corn veloute and it was velvety (sp?) and smooth. i had the bay scallops which were cooked to perfection and the duo of duck which was also very good. My brother had the rib-eye which was large and looked good as well.

Service: Our waitress was very attentive and kind. She and I guess the manager would describe the dishes they brought out which was a very nice touch. Waitress also tried to make sure everyone had food at the same time which was appreciated since there was mixing of tasting and a la carte menus.

Value: It's fine dining so it will be on the expensive side but I believe it was all well worth the money.

Ambiance: Nothing to rave or rant about. Even with a packed house it wasnt that noisy.

Overall a pleasant experience. The only thing to note was that dinner was close to 3 hours. Food came kinda slow although that might have been due to mixing of the tasting and a la carte menus.

Love it

This is a small restaurant which I think is more taiwanese than korean They have mini hot pots and rice bowls. I love the kimchi hot pot and always get it because of the soup and spicyness. You get meat, tofu, an egg, and kimchi and vermicelli. I'm always full and satisfied!I find it pretty cheap too. Better than eating fast food! I wouldn't say there was anything special about this restaurant other than it serves decent food fast. They also have bubble tea now but I've never tried it. Their tea is also really nice.(although depending on the waitresses working, one of them doesn't know how to make the tea and I end up getting hard water with no tea flavor, this has happened on two occasions).

Very good Non AYCE
Submitted Tuesday, July 15, 2008 - 1:34am [Dine in]

Quality of food here is very good. I always come here now instead of other AYCE places. Sushi and sashimi are fresh. Cooked foods are decent. They also have ramen, udon, rice bowls and bento boxes which are good also. Clearly, they have quite a large variety of food which is thumbs up from me!

Service: Servers are friendly although sometimes its hard to attract their attention

Value: Their food is not expensive. All very reasonable prices

Ambiance: They just renovated and the place seems cleaner.

I love this place and will always come back. Overall, a very good sushi place. Your money is better spent here than at an AYCE

So good
Submitted Tuesday, July 15, 2008 - 1:27am [Dine in]

This small restaurant is hidden and only has about 6 or 7 tables and a bar so reservations are definately recommended!

Food: Food was amazingly fresh. It was some of the best sushi I've ever had. They have some fish from japan, i tried one, shimaaji, and it had a different texture that I never tasted! I'll definately try more next time I come.

Service: It was okay but nothing to complain about since it's only one waitress( the wife) and sometimes if shes really busy the sushi chef ( the husband) will bring your food to you. Just don't expect really fast service if its busy.

Value: I was starving and was pretty full and satisfied for 25 dollars. I had 2 rolls and some sushi. So overall, for this quality of food I am happy with the price. Better than spending it on AYCE.

Ambiance: Its small but not cramped.

This place should be tried by all at least once! I will definately come back here and have already recommended it to friends and family.
