Nice View - terrible Food
Submitted Saturday, October 24, 2009 - 12:57pm [Dine in]

Like many other reviews for this restaurant I have to agree that the value here is just not there.

The food was just o.k. Nothing special at all. The novelty of cooking it yourself doesn't make up for the bland food. I really could have done a much better job at home.

The service was quite terrible. we seemed to have to flag our server or anyone we could find whenever we needed something.

The view in the restaurant is spectacular, but again this doesn't make up for the overpriced food.

Would not return and would not recommend.

Will return!
Submitted Friday, June 5, 2009 - 2:52pm [Dine in]

This was my first visit to the Steveston Seafood House.
Our entire meal was quite good and the food was beautifully presented. We both had the smoked black cod. Although I thought it was a tiny bit salty it was cooked to perfection. We shared the pan fried oysters to start and they too were cooked to perfection.

The service was couteous and quick and the menu seemed priced fairly.

We will definately return!

Ate at Chop restaurant last week with a party of four.
We shared their appy platter which for $35.00 was nothing special. Potato chips, wings, veggies....not worth the price. I had the large prime rib for dinner which was HUGE but bland and barley warm. I also ordered a side of king crab legs which never came.

Our server would dissapear for lngthy amounts of time. Presumably to accomadate another large party in the restaurant. Once we got our coffees we didn't see him for 30 minutes.

It is quite a beautiful restaurant with cozy lighting and booths.

Although all four of us thought our meals were o.k. we all agreed the price was much to high for the value. Our bill with only a 1/2 liter of wine came to nearly $300. Would not return.

Keg Steakhouse & Bar, The11151 No. 5 Road, Richmond
Poor choice in Richmond
Submitted Monday, December 1, 2008 - 12:36pm [Dine in]

I have eaten at this Keg location about 6 time in the last couple of years. It is usually quite consistent but nothing to rave about. My most recent visit will be my last though.

I usually eat the prime rib but as happens sometimes they were out of it by 9:00. I settled for a steak which was cooked right but had very little flavor. Not the cut which they claim to have.

The service is where I really drew the line of not coming back though. Our young waiter was pleasant throughout the night but not too personable. Where he really went wrong was by giving us the bill before we were ready to leave. Although our small group of three were the last table in the restaurant we had spent over three hundred dollars on food and wine in a mere hour and a half! We would have liked to stay around for coffee and desert but were being obviously rushed out by the young staff members who couldn't wait to get their night going.

The ambience is quite nice dim and private.

I will not return
