Banana Leaf3005 W Broadway, Vancouver
A Great Spot
Submitted Friday, May 4, 2012 - 12:06pm [Dine in]

Having read the previous reviews, it appears that the Banana Leaf may not be the most consistent of places, however I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed my recent experience there. Friends and I just shared a few appetizers, of which the spring rolls were delicious, and I may have over indulged on their blended lychee mojito and mai tai's. The service was attentive and the food was hot and tasty. I'll definitely be back!

Beatniks Bistro9194 Glover Road, Langley
Fort Langley's Gem
Submitted Friday, May 4, 2012 - 11:25am [Dine in]

I recently moved from Kitsilano to Fort Langley and have since made it my goal to try each of the restaurants in town. Beatniks Bistro is by far my favorite spot. The food is absolutely incredible - last week I had their featured pan seared fresh Halibut with a home made mango salsa - and let me tell you, it's a wonderful treat to be able to eat healthy and delicious food when dining out. I can tell that the chefs at Beatniks take pride in their work and to me, that is the mark of an up and coming restaurant. Look out Fort Langley!

As for the service and the ambiance, I have nothing but positive feedback. Our server, Stefani, was not only attentive and efficient, but she genuinely seemed to care about getting to know us by talking to us all about our recent move and her favorite things about the area. And to me, it is the incredible food and the engaging service that sets Beatniks apart from the other local restaurants.

Of course I could try to find areas for improvement, but that is a reality in any business. All I would say is that Beatniks is a "must try." They have something for everyone - affordable lunches, friendly service, a quaint family story, cocktails, wine, espresso, hand crafted desserts. And for me, the fresh food and service has made my transition into Fort Langley much smoother and I'm definitely looking forward to their patio season.
