Coza! Tuscan Grill20065 Langley Bypass, Langley
Watery pasta
Submitted Sunday, September 28, 2008 - 8:45am [Dine in]

I went to Coza last night with a couple of friends. I had been wanting to try it for a long time, so I was looking forward to a good meal.
The bread and oil and vinegar to start was fine. The service was great - our waitress was very friendly, and although it was extremely busy, she did her best to make sure we were taken care of. The food - well, the food was pretty terrible.
I ordered the angel hair pasta with shrimp scampi. I love scampi for the garlic, so I was looking forward to a really garlick-y pasta. The dish was completely the opposite - there was no garlic on the shrimp, just some dried up basil, and there was absolutely no sauce on the angel hair noodles. The noodles were basically swimming in water with some roasted tomatoes on top (not well roasted actually, closer to raw). The pasta itself was so overcooked, it tasted like Mr. Noodles.
I tried to eat it but eventually flagged down the waitress and told her the situation. I don't like to return food, but in this case it was a must. She was very gracious about it and took it off our bill.
Although the service was great, I will not be returning to Coza. That pasta was the most awful I have ever tasted in my life.

Glowbal Grill and Satay Bar1079 Mainland Street, Vancouver
A disappointment
Submitted Sunday, May 27, 2007 - 5:32pm [Dine in]

I went to Glowbal/Afterglow Lounge last night with a fairly large group of friends. Right off the bat, there was confusion with our reservation. The restaurant was attempting to fit three parties of at least 15 people each into their tiny lounge. When our group protested this, as we had made a reservation at least three weeks ago and were told that we would have plenty of room, we were met with arrogance and an above-it-all attitude from the manager. On the plus side, our waitress was wonderful. I felt sorry for her as she had to deal with several put-out customers, and she did it with tact and class. I cannot say the same for the manager. The food was ok - I ordered the satay platter, and I can't say I loved it, but to be fair it was presented well. I just think paying $23 for a few pieces of meat on a stick is a bit outlandish.
