I was drawn into Qoola by their $5 special (one small yogurt + 2 toppings from 11-7pm). It was seven on the dot so I quickly ordered a small green tea yogurt. The server was friendly enough to offer me a sample of it first, and after one taste i knew that this would hit the spot. The green tea was not too overpowering and it packed just the right amount of tangy punch i was looking for in the yogurt. The two toppings I chose were mango and chocolate flakes. I was pleasantly surprised to find the mangoes tasting ripe. Overall the interior is really cool but it was a bit of a mess, probably from the crowd of beach people wandering in from a long day of tanning. I definitely recommend trying this place out, but be wary of overindulging in this "healthy" treat... too much of anything is a bad thing =)
I used to hit up akira sushi on a weekly basis when i worked across the street from it. Their yam tempura roll and salmon avocado rolls were de-lish! The yam tempura in the rolls were hot and fresh unlike other places which served up cold and dry yam tempura for their rolls. Their salmon avocado rolls were also a favorite; fresh and tasty. But today I went there and just ordered the salmon and tuna rolls and I must say i was disappointed. There was BARELY any salmon in the rolls and the tuna wasn't looking too hot either. Next time i'll just remember to stick to my two faves.
