Food ok, watery drinks, crap service, nice patio
Submitted Wednesday, August 1, 2007 - 7:56pm [Dine in]

Had a reservation with a party of five on a sunny Thursday afternoon.

Food is ok: taste and presentation is good, ingredients are average and prices are above average - so there is limited value. A friend ordered a rye and 7 and had to send it back as it was too watered down.

Minor peeve: ordered a Snakebite which turned out to be Strongbow and Cassis; where's the lager? (The menu does indicate what's in a Cat's Meow Snakebite but it's the first time I've seen it served this way).

As for the service, sure, our waitresses was hot but not friendly and completely indifferent to her job - to the point of being rude.

The draw of this place is clearly the location and patio.

Won't be back.

Motley Crue and the cardboard wings
Submitted Tuesday, July 10, 2007 - 7:58pm [Dine in]

Sunny Tuesday at 5pm. Not busy at all and 3 waitresses - had to wait 10 mins to be acknowledged. Ordered 3 lbs of wings in each of three flavours (see below), beer and a bellini. Food showed up fairly quickly, no problem there.

Texas Dry Rub = deep fried (didn't used to be) - had no taste, kinda like cardboard.
Italian Roasted Red Pepper = deep fried also, tasted just like the Texas.
Tora Tora Tokyo = bascially deep fried teriyaki - good taste but nothing special.
Beer and bellini were decent.

Need a keycard to use the filthy Howard Johnson bathroom - not good.
Music was Motley Crue blasting at high volume (yes I know it's Granville but c'mon guys!). Bill took at least 10 mins. to show up at the end of the meal.

Not going back.

Dropped by with three friends on a weeknight for dinner and a couple of drinks. Restaurant was not busy and we were seated right away. Service was just ok...the waitress seemed indifferent as if she would rather have been somewhere else (perhaps she was tired?)

A buddy and myself ordered Crown Floats (1/2 Guiness layered on 1/2 Strongbow). Ended up with about 3/4 Strongbow with some Guiness on top...way too sweet and not what I was expecting. Ordered the chicken noodle bowl - very tasty but tiny portion size! I'm not a huge eater but I almost wanted to ask the waitress where the rest of it was.

Cool modern decor but the LCD TVs were showing the news with the volume off. As the headlines are mostly bad news I found this to detract from the otherwise upbeat vibe.

Prices were on the high side and were not justified by the food/drink. Instead you're paying for the Moxie's/Joey experience: cute waitresses and funky modern decor.

The Kits location is new and perhaps they have some kinks to work out. I don't feel any urge to return but might go as part of a large group for a function (and I'll probably suggest somewhere else).
