Iki Japanese Restaurant2756 W Broadway, Vancouver
Consistent, Healthy Japanese Fusion, decent price!
Submitted Sunday, May 25, 2008 - 8:04pm [Dine in]

I have eaten here time and time again.

The food is always consistent and offers a modern and healthy twist.
Their lunch specials are affordable at more or less $10 and Iki offers brown rice sushi and other wholesome options.

If you're feeling like taking a break off your diet, their yam fries (rather yam strips) are quite tasty coming in a tempura batter with a balsamic reduction and spicy mayo.

The decor is quite lovely and the the staff is without fail friendly.

If you're around the West Broadway / Macdonald area I definately recomment trying them out.

Kadoya Japanese1063 Davie Street, Vancouver
Overrated Oversized Sushi

Surprising that this restaurant gets as much attention as it does. The restaurant is decorated with signage previous customers have left behind boasting how amazing it is.
The reality is that the food is just alright. If you're looking for oversized rolls with a lot of (pretty warm) rice, and if not smothered in sauces or mayo lack presentation altogether, this is definately the place to go.
The waitresses leave me with mixed emotions, some are very charming making up for the others who are monotone and sometimes rude.
I would visit many other sushi restaurants before going out of my way to go to Kadoya.
If you're seeking traditional sushi that leaves you satisfied and feeling great, move on. If your cup of tea is wasting half of your rolls because they're so huge and full of rice, and soonafter feeling bloated, this is the place to go.
