The food is no doubt ok- that is why we went back again. However, the service is very poor. You can hardly see a waitress/waitor around. We were so thirsty that we had to go all the way to look for them to ask for tea refill - not to mention to re-order. And they never seem to come out.
I wonder if the staffs are "on-half-strike" or if their boss is paying them too little to serve the customers. They first time, they came up with all deep-fried foods first and sushi at the very last. Result? We were too full for the sushi.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention. You will always see the staffs waiting for you at the end when you are ready to go. And don't forget we pay gratuities of 15%!!!!!
I had been a frequent goer- to this place. During one period, I stopped going there because the beef-meat and meatballs weren't fresh. Tasted like they're days old. Later on, they were ok again - so we started going back. The food is ok so long as they keep to the standard. Environment is rather poor I'd say - obviously dark. Good thing they didn't have carpet flooring like most other restaurants or else they would certainly smell strong too.
If I ever were to dine here, it is better to "cook it yourself". The noodles are worse than instant ones; soup is watery and mere oily; fishballs/meatballs - I'd better opt for Vietnamese meatballs. Place is so noisy; floor is simply dirty and messy. Among the Hon's - it is only the one in Richmond that is worth spending the $$$ if you have no where else to dine. And for the price - huh...why not eat something else?!
I agree with all the reviewers who wrote about this restaurant - it definitely serves the worst Japanese food - sushi in town. This is the 1st Japanese buffet restaurant we went to in Burnaby. Simply awful - no freshness in their sushi ....even when the sushi is being rotated on the "kai-ten" or revolving boat - they looked as if they were from yesterday. We are from Japan - so we can tell by looking at the sushi itself. But since we paid..we still eat...but vowed never to eat there again. No wonder people drive all the way to Richmond for sushi.
I used to like to dine at this - reasonably-priced and tasty noodle house until one evening. We ordered our usual hot and spicy beef noodles. GUESS WHAT? Our noodles are only half-cooked/done! At first we didn't believe it but later....we found that my doubt turned out to be real...the noodles are not properly done. The middle/core is still raw. We called the waitress. She took them to the chef to be cooked it again. We waited for about 10-15mins to re-cook the noodles. At the end - we were charged the same price and not one extra noodle added - despite our awful dinner. I remember I was given a free-drink coupon when the Starbucks waitress forgot my order and made me waited for 10 mins. See the difference??
