We discover this place last year and this is still top of my list. Like the way they shout …which was little weird but now I love it.
You have the LOCAL in front of you but hapa has some thing different from usual eatery.
As you settle down, they have some hot towels for you, which is nice. I have my favourite here king crab roll which usually runs out everyday (I guess).
My hubby likes the tempura prawns with mayo. Which is good.
Ambience..Very cozy as you go few steps down to the main dining.
Needless to say we will be back .
Also much reasonable than earls.

We were five of us on a slower night and late too. Greeted with the smile and helped very promptly with the menu suggestion.
Generally we are big eater but they said we can start with few items and see how it goes . I really appreciate that.
The food was ok we had eggplant stuffed with seafood which was good but oily which is very common. Also we had mix seafood noodles which had very good quality veggies
For sure, we will be back.

This is the kind of place which what defines Vancouver restaurant scene……
……….self confident and pride in our city. The menu states every thing is hand picked and naturally raised, even the paper napkin is eco-friendly. Good way to impress first timers like us.
As we waited at the bar had red stripe Jamaican beer and freshly made original mojito.
We took more time than usual to decide, which was noticed by the manager .Who helped us to understand and to choose.
I had arctic char , which was perfectly respected. Never thought this with pair so well with hummus and baba ganoush ,my hubby had rack of lamb which was nicely roasted to medium.
I will be definitely return to nuba, next time with more friends who are looking for this kind of atmosphere and food.

Very excited to see Chef Angus on the front of the georgia straight. No doubt, he deserves to be there, but I have some issues. Does media can create a hype ,can media make a chef popular.
Started with steamed mussels which was really flavourful but too hot to can handle (As an east Indian we always like hot food). At that point I wanted to have another beer but the waiter who is really a nice guy went missing. I know most of service mistake happens when it is a slow night, meanam is no exceptional.
For bigger we had shrimp with salad which was full of tough mint leaves and made me think of Mexican flavours. May be chef thought as Mexican food getting more popular in Vancouver we should have this on the menu.
Lastly, the most disappointing sable fish jungle curry. Now here is the point , there are things which make Vancouver proud one of is buttery sable fish .How can you deep fry this fish? All the juices were gone and I was getting an infused flavours of frying oil. So I went on a quest ….ways of cooking sable fish. End result what I got ,you basically waste sable fish when you deep fry it (I hope chef is right and I am wrong) .
Service and ambience very good ,very classy but can these two strong points and support of media can make a place busy? ……we will wait and see.

This was our third visit at Kalamata ,but never on a weekend. Almost full when we entered and felt good that we are in a right place.
I always go for the roast lamb and my hubby got the the lamb chops which was kind of made in rush and did not taste as good as always,may be because they were very busy and run out of better one.
As our sweet server told us(had pepper earrings!!!) they were really busy and will try to get the food as soon as possible. She was very promt with drinks and was attentive which gives me reason to give more stars on the service than food.
For sure we will return but only on weekdays as always.

what is the house wine?

Never like to cook on sunday .So we give this place a try,and it was a discovery.
On a sunday night half of the place was full which was a good sign.Started with sweet and sour soup ,very nice. Lots of prawns and full of flavour.
Then we felt like having house wine and asked the server what kind of wine it is ,he did not had any idea what it was.So we told him to check the bottle and he came back with the wine but replied 'i really do not know what it is'.....oh no!!!!!!
Whatever--the food was so yummy i really forgot about the wine.
finished with a small bowl of fruits .For sure we will return again and again.

we were party for four,looking something very quick .Saw a place with lots of fresh flowers as almost 10 pm we asked if we can still be served and we were welcomed..thank you .this used to sandys cuisine these guys put lot of money and made it very cozy and relaxing.

we had three starter which were really good and eye catching
our entree were big and well presented and full of colors --
we will be back soon with more groups
with seafood ,beer for four hungry hogs only $85 .

Always we stop at Papaya hut for a quick bite while rushing for the movie.This time we thought that we should give a try to the new indian place ,as curries are hot and spicy will go well in this cold and snow.only one table (so it will be fast!!!!!)
We ordered lamb curry and prawns with veggies,really good.Lamb was soft and tender with full of flavour,also the prawns had the exact amount of sauce you need.Dishes came with bread and rice which was a bonus. The server never asked for the spice level.

Total bill with tips$30 bucks.Nice we will be back.
