Dean's Deli & Bakery1139 Melville Street, Vancouver
Melville's Sandwich Delight
Submitted Tuesday, July 6, 2010 - 5:20pm [Dine in]

Incredible Sandwiches, so fresh and such a good deal for the price. I've become a returning customer. Get the shrimp Avocado, great seafood lunch. There soups are actually home made, no preservatives so its actually fresh and actually homemade.

This sandwich restaurant/deli/bakery is a few steps away from my condo. I don't consider many places to be hidden gems in the city but CAFE DEAN is certainly one of them.

This little place has amazing prices, delicious home-made hearty soups, and some of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. They roast their own meats daily and for that reason their roasted turkey sandwich is OUT OF THIS WORLD (make sure to get cranberry sauce on it). The egg salad sandwich is also a steal and soooo delicious!

The portions are extremely generous for the price and the service is super friendly. The owners are so nice that they even wave at me when they see me walk by on my way to work every day.

Forget about SUBWAY and give this local deli a try! You won't be disappointed.

Great parfait and Great Americano

I visited Parfait a pia, a small store, across from TGI Fridays of Metrotown this week. Never had a Parfait before, but eh, its actually good! Gelato with cookie crumbs, fresh fruit, sponge cake and other stuff thats good all layered artfully, into a delicious treat. The mood with its mellow orange walls and soft comfortables couches was perfect for all the friends I brought to chat and eat. I didn't know they had wireless internet either. Its a good place to study, the people are good, customers that come in seem to be regulars. Its a much quieter place to study than Waves, so crouded. Check it. I rate a A+.
