Low Expectations, Great Experience

Friday night after work. The wife and I were exhausted. We needed a quick fix for diner.

I always thought of Earl's as an old burger joint that has other items on the menu. Wrong.

I don't know about other Earl's but this one is HUGE. Rockin Friday night? No problem. 5 mins for a nice table.

One look at the menu and wine list and you know these people are serious. TVs everywhere just in case I wanted to see how my team is doing. Did I design this place?

Our server was young but she knew her stuff. A little wine knowledge and some friendly menu advice. Nice and efficient service. Damn...wish I remembered her name. Big Red Earings. Blond. Petite.

Food: Spinach Feta dip. Tasty Yummy. The wife had a burger and salad with cheddar and shrooms. Myself, a chicken quesedilla with a side a warm potato salad. OK. My potato salad was out of this world. Wife's burger=best burger ever. Honestly can't recall a better burger! Kudos Earl's.

I'd just like to end by saying this. I work in the industry and dine out often. I was very impressed by this location. They really seem to have their "stuff" together. Our server was quite professional. You don't find that everywhere.

Salut Earl's

Love This Place

Came down to this "old standard" with my wife after an afternoon of shopping. It was early evening/late afternoon but the spot was hopping and there was no one at the door to seat us. An gentleman who seemed at bit older than the rest yelled across the restaurant and told me someone would be right with me! I've been to Rodney's many times but this time I felt they deserved a shout out.

Like I said, the place was busy but not to the point where my server couldn't treat us well and have a little chat. A nice Irish boy who looked a little bit like a mix of Jesus and Viking took good care of us. He just seemed the know exactly what we needed and when we needed it. Maybe it was because he told us exactly what we needed and when we needed it. I like a waiter to take charge. Give me your best! We had a couple dozen oysters and some frosty cold pints because its an oyster house and thats what they do best. We then had more oysters and more pints. We lost count of how many rounds we had. Luckily we live near by.

I've had oysters all around the city and Rodney's always has the freshest and best selection. I don't really know the menu very well because we only ever have the fresh shucked oysters or the pan fried oysters. We always have a hoot. I cant remember Rodney's ever being anything but a good time. We even had a friend from out of town with us who had never eaten an oyster...he rang the bell and made an "oyster virgin announcement." She blushed a little but it was all in good fun.

It's an oyster house. So go for the oysters and you can do no wrong. I love Rodney's.
