Just GO!!

Many years ago I was walking down Robsonstrasse about noon and I was hungry.I ducked around the corner and saw this quaint little hole in the wall called Le Crocodile.I walked in and sat down. This was a very narrow little bistro and was very unpretencious.I ordered Beouf Bourginon or something like that and was very impressed(it was also very inexpensive). As the years went by Le Croc moved down the street. The building and the food is the best in Vancouver.

I have been going to Simpaticos for about 33 yrs. When I was a student at UBC we would go for early morning whole wheat pizza.I went there last sunday and had the roast lamb special $8.95.It was huge and delicious. The service was excellent.I recommend the pizza ,it is still my favourite pizza in town.Muisc and ambience are great.I highly recommend it!

Dry and Greasy

I am so sorry to feel obliged to write this review.I am a fan of real smokehouse BBQ.However, when I took my family to Memphis BBQ for a birthday celebration disappointment was on the menu.We had brisket(dry and greasy and way overcooked),ribs(dry greasy overcooked and gamey) and chicken(dry, greasy flavourless). The beer was excellent. The BBQ sauce was way too full of molasses( I love a good strong BBQ sauce) and was not a real Memphis style sauce. There was plenty of food and the music and atmosphere was great.I know they mean well but they need somebody who knows how to cook.I hope they read this because their's is not a hopeless cause
