Nice looking place...food mediocre

Went there last week of Aug 2009. My friend and I each ordered a filet (after all, it's a steakhouse). The waitress told us to order the balsamic vinegar reduction sauce with our steaks. The beef was okay, but not all that flavourful and the mashed potatoes tasted like they were made a week ago. How hard is it to make mashed potatoes every night? Earls and The Keg seem to do it just fine. The balsamic reduction looked like tar and overpowered the steak. The rest of the veg (3 sprigs of baby carrots and one mini squash bulb) were very undercoooked. My friends steak was overcooked and they gave her a discount on her meal after she complained. My dinner cost $60 and it was really lame. Nice room though.

The patio is incrediblle, but sadly the food and service are in serious trouble. I had the Seared Tuna (most expensive entree on the menu) and I received 3 tiny strips of tuna pan seared in Pam with a few sprinkes of chopped parsley ontop of a gigantic bed of lettuce. It was brutal! Crab cakes arrived completely soggy in the middle - like they weren't cooked at all. Nacho chips are from Costco and salsa is from a jar. The 4 fresh oysters I ate last night made me seriously ill when I got home as they weren't overly fresh and very milky/fishy tasting. Our bill was over $131 - we left hungry and very disappointed.
