Definate Incredible
Submitted Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 11:08pm [Dine in]

Food: This is the very best part of the experience and definitely what I care most about while eating. We had the slow roasted veil and the halibut for our mains. The veil was amazing-incredible. The halibut was done perfectly, but the crab crepe served with the halibut and the sauce was what earned 'incredible'. We were also served two complimentary things that were something like whipped soda with grapes, melon and I think pickle - sooo good and then while my husband was served an appy they brought me a complimentary thing that looked like an egg, but was a carrot, cilantro reduction or something that was so very good.

Service: Immediately we were greeted by a hostess with the assistant manager -both were polite and useful -perfect. I felt relaxed immediately. Our waitress was perfect - she recommended the lobster gnocchi for an appy and it was amazing. She was polite with a sense of humour, so gracious, relaxed and professional. The other staff also seemed well aware of their surroundings and customer service.

Value: when writing this, my husband thought this should be less given the very expensive bill. I asked if we were ripped off?- not at all!! Completely worth it, but just for very special occasions.

Ambiance- was great but I wouldn't use it as a point of recommendation. Given the quality and cost of food - ambiance was solid as it was neither here nor there.

I very much recommend Diva at the Met. I am shocked anyone has anything but incredible to say about the food. I use Bishops as a reference point when I think about the best of Vancouver and I believe Diva at the Met is up there with one of best restaurants Vancouver has to offer.

Great for Sharing

This place is really yummy and cool. I really enjoy taking people here -both my parents and my friends. Either for a Saturday afternoon or a Friday night.

The food is really good - I like being able to get different foods from different parts of Asia all with a little twist.

I wouldn't recommend it as any genre (eg. best thai in the city) but to have a little of everything is fun and the food is rich.
the martini's are good.
I really like the ambiance- dark and cozy inside and then a really cool patio day or night.

The service is solid and I like how they serve whatever's ready first (you know you're food hasn't been under a heat lamp).

This is a great place.

a regular place for us
Submitted Wednesday, September 5, 2007 - 11:18pm [Dine in]

Overall rating is a 4 because I'm kindof picky about Vietnamese food and I've only tried a few others in town. But I love this place.
We also know people that have moved across town and really miss this place.

It's become a regular place for us to go and take out from -always really good. The ambiance is not amzaing, but I keep returning and always have a good meal and a good time.
Service is very nice.
I love the little fruit cup at the end of your meal.

I've been here now a few times, but always for a lazy lunch after a walk on the beach. And for the that the food, service and ambiance are great -but I would never go there for anything but the location.

The menu is good. The service is good.

I really like this place and definatley recommend it, as I love sitting on balconies and sharing food.

yummy tuna and salmon
Submitted Wednesday, September 5, 2007 - 10:38pm [Dine in]

I almost always get the same thing -so for what I order, this place is totally addictive.
I usually get a few pieces wild salmon nigiri and a spicy tuna roll then whatever else -i've tried lots as I have been there so many times.
The salmon is always fresh and good size pieces especially for wild. The spicy tuna roll is what I crave on a regular basis. the sauce has almost a spicy peanut flavour -again the tuna rolls and sashimi are good sizes of fresh fish-which is my main reason for eating sushi -so also why i give this place a rating of outstanding.

The other things on the menu that I've eaten are not bad at all, but average for what we can get in most sushi joints -still good.

Service has always been friendly.
Ambiance is fine-definatley good enough to eat there, but I wouldn't spend an evening there.

everyone should try this place-but not a regular

What an excellent experience. So yummy. Because I regularly read this site (just started adding to it) I knew to go early.
So we went on a Monday night at 5:30 and were sat right away -so I think that's the trick!
It was really good food and really good service. mmmm, just thinking about it makes me smile.
I didn't find it typical indian fare (and I love indian food) but that isn't why I went there- most high end places you don't get leftovers, so I was expecting something a little small but really good and that's what I got.

The server and owner were gracious -perfect.

I think this is a place that everyone should try -at least once.
I won't be a regular as it's a little pricey and by 6 o'clock there was an hour long wait -on a monday -(we ran into some friends that were going to wait once they took a look at our food).

Overall a great place!

Great Food!!
Submitted Wednesday, September 5, 2007 - 8:19pm [Dine in]

This place is great. I've been for lunch with friends several times, dinner with a large group once and ordered out a few times -all have been good experiences. I've gone there with both south asian people and white people and everyone agrees that it's really good.

The quality of food is excellent.

The staff really seem to care that you enjoy the food -the portions are excellent.

The price is more than fair.

I've been to some Indian places that seem to be all sauce and no meat and veg in their dishes -this is not the case here.

I recommend this place for sure!

pricey but worth every penny
Submitted Wednesday, September 5, 2007 - 8:07pm [Dine in]

I went to Bishop's with 3 other girlfriends for a birthday dinner for one of them.
We had a great night. The food was amazing. I had the sable fish -just melted in my mouth.

The service was great. They were relaxed yet right on top of our needs. While we waited for our order they came around with samples of goodness (I can't remember what they were but they were good).

The ambiance was clean, simple, no clutter -classy.

I loved the west-coast flare on everything.

Although it cost a lot I didn't feel ripped off.

Wimaan Thai Restaurant1063 W. Broadway, Vancouver
Always Good
Submitted Friday, July 20, 2007 - 9:09pm [Dine in]

My husband and I have been going to Wimaan's Thai restaurant for years and easily give an overall rating of outstanding as we have never been anything but totally pleased (we've been going to his place for about 15 years -he was in Delta before Vancouver).

The portions are not huge, but the choice of vegtables and quality of food is so much better than the many other Thai places in the lower mainland. The menu is not anything fancy (no fusion or super inventive stuff), but if you are looking for good Thai food I think Wimaan's is excellent.

The owner and his staff are incredible! Prompt, nice and recognize what you are there for (to eat and run or a laid back night out)-attentive to each table. I like that our money is going to a nice guy who runs a good place -not a chain or some place that has not established a reliable record of such good thai food. We have been to several other Thai restaurants that sometimes seem great and other times not so great. -Wimaan's always is excellent.

The ambiance could be nicer -I don't like the warehouse style, but the staff do make up for it and nice enough decor.
mmm, I love Thai food.
