Nice view average food

Third time going to this place and I have to say it is just blah.

The view is great and it is a nice place to go for dinner for the ambiance but the value gets you.

Service is always great but as for the food - I've had one good meal here and two blah meals. Not bad mind you just nothing great, and if I want "nothing great" I'd go to fast food.

Hope it gets better - I'll check back here to see.

A solid solid place

Always good food - try their curried pasta - pretty great (but feels a bit heavy).

The service is also always friendly even when it is very busy. But the big positive is the value, as it should be for a pasta place.

I actually have no complaints and I haven't been able to find a better pasta place yet in terms of food quality, service, and value.

I really liked this place

On the positives,

Great food with lots of flavor, and the service we had was great. Value is good and probably a bit on the cheaper side from most.

I really enjoyed the curry dishes - especially the lamb curry and the peas curry.

On the negative sides:

I bit hard to find, being up at SFU - but well worth looking for.
One of our Naan breads was a bit burnt but the server got me a fresh one and didn't charge me and was very nice and quick about it.

I look forward to going back.

Don't understand the hype

I guess you should always start with the positives.

Service is great, friendly staff and Vij himself come around in full garb to make everyone feel welcome.
The atmosphere itself is beautiful and makes for a nice evening setting.

But on the poor side:

The value is horrible - I was expecting to pay a high price to eat there - but the cost was about 30% more than my already high expectations.

As for the food - I found it kind of bland. I think this may be why it is so popular, blandish westernized Indian food appealing to the masses which believe it must be good because it is overpriced. On the positive side, the food was presented nicely and prepared well - just lacked taste.

I probably wouldn't go back but I think it is worth a one-time visit.
