Momo Sushi House833 Bidwell Street, Vancouver
My new favourite sushi place
Submitted Monday, September 14, 2009 - 12:53pm [Dine in]

This is my new regular spot for lunch. I'm a bit loathe to post here as I don't want to lose the intimacy of this little place, but I also want to see them survive in such a competative market. They are sooo good. The staff are super friendly and very accomodating. The food is very fresh with good quality ingredients and the most generous portions ever. Three of use easily eat our lunch for less than $12. The standard rolls, keppa, tune etc.. are all good but the outstanding rolls are the more specialty ones like the dynamite rolls or phillidelphia rolls. The chef makes them unique (and large).

I will keep coming back here and highly reccomend it.

Sushi Robo1709 Robson Street, Vancouver
Gone downhill
Submitted Monday, September 14, 2009 - 12:44pm [Dine in]

Sushi Robo, or Robo Sushi, used to be my usual lunch spot. The rolls were well priced and usually freshly made. If something wasn't fresh, the chef would quickly assemble it with a decent quality. The staff were always friendly and happy to oblige specific requests.

However, it has recently changed hands and has gone significantly downhill. After a number of meals with stale shrimp and poor quality fish I have decided to no longer give them my business. The staff are not as pleasant as they once were. The rolls are now much smaller too. Overall the quality has dropped well below the other sushi restaurants in the surrounding area.
