Finch's Tea & Coffee House353 West Pender Street, Vancouver

So Ive wanted to give this place a try for a while and I had high hopes going in, and they were more than met!
First of all, so what if they're hipsters, its a coffee shop, get over it!
I walked in and was greeted promptly with a smile and assistance.
They have loose leaf tea which is more than I expected, and I was immediately impressed with the variety of teas they had.
I wasnt sure what kind of sandwich I wanted and asked for a suggestion, the girl was a vegan so asked the other guy helping and I went with his choice. PERFECT! so good!
They were closing in 10 minutes so I didnt get time to enjoy the ambiance for as long as I would have liked but it was beautiful in there.
I agree that the sandwich took a while, but for those who haven't worked in a restaurant, it goes fast because its all made, whether in house or not, before hand. I saw the guy cutting each and every little grape that went into my sandwich. He used a pepper grinder for the pepper. Everything was as FRESH as possible.
I could go on and on, amazing experience, amazing food, amazing place.

Good Experience

I feel like this restaurant has within the past year or so changed management, because it went from a great place, to a convenient place. Being the only milestones on the north shore where else can you get a great brunch. There was a young host there for years who knew us as regulars who is no longer there. The atmosphere feels colder than it used to for some reason. The servers and hosts seem robotic, the food is consistently the same. Whatelse can you expect from a chain restaurant?

I don't understand how people can honestly not even give the ambiance a 5. The restaurant it self absolutely beautiful. Like all restaurants nothing is ever perfect all the time, but any small slips come with apologies by servers or even managers, and sometimes even discounts. The food is consistently beautiful and creative. Their girls night is a fantastic deal, as is their date night. Drinks are fairly expensive, but what restaurant like earls or cactus' aren't. I've never eaten at this location and been let down. Their brunches are the best, their steak is the best I've had in awhile, raspberry mojito's were so good, appetizers are fantastic, i could go on and on. The servers are attentive, the food is perfect, and the ambiance is unbeatable.
