Interesting People
Submitted Sunday, April 27, 2008 - 8:23am [Dine in]

The last time I was at Bon's was about 8 years ago and I don't think any thing has changed. This place is hopping during the weekends for breakfast.

I went there with my wife and 2 kids. The food was above average and service was not bad. I just got the kick out of the interesting patrons who were friendly and obviously regulars.

We fed a family of 4 for under $11 - would definitely go again.

Nothing has changed in 20 years
Submitted Monday, April 21, 2008 - 10:04pm [Dine in]

I've been going to Pho Hoang since they were a smaller restaurant a few blocks south of their current location.

Even though I am a "regular" (I go there at least once a month), the service has not changed. Yes, they continue to ignore me and give me dirty looks when I ask for more water or tea.

The food is excellent. Stick with the rice noodle soup and you can't go wrong. The good news is that they are fair; they treat all the customers horribly.

I still continue to go there because they have the best pho in town.

Best Dim Sum in Town
Submitted Monday, April 21, 2008 - 9:55pm [Dine in]

I've been going to Dim Sum in Vancouver since I could hold chopsticks. I love the pork & shrimp dumplings. The food is fresh and healthy. When my kids were young, this was one of their favourite places. (Loud atmosphere with soft steamed healthy food is the best place for young children!).

The baked tapioca is a must try. I would recommend going before 11 am or after 1.30 pm or else be prepared to line-up.

Hesitation Justified
Submitted Monday, April 21, 2008 - 9:49pm [Dine in]

Last week was my first visit to Toshi's. After reading some of the reviews here, I was hesitant in going.

I expected a long line up and I was okay with that; however, when I wait for something I like to feel the wait was worth it.

All I can say is that after waiting 45 minutes to get a table I was treated to mushy sushi, sashimi that was "less that fresh" and quite honestly some of the limpest tempura I have expereinced in the Lower Mainland.

Sure the price is okay. May be having had very good sushi elsewhere my standards are higher.
