If you are expecting to be in and out of the noodlebox quickly, you can forget it. Its definatley a step above fast food noodle joints. But not quite a full restaurant.
Good Noodles at a decent price. The speed at which the cooks work at rush hour is good dinner entertainment. The wait for food can be a little long depending on your proximity to dinner or lunch.
Hot tip - Sit in the back and have abeer while you wait, unlike those chumps who sit or stand up front in the 3 or 4 seats for take out.
Always worth a stop.
Browns would probably be an outstanding restaurant on its own somewhere else.
Not to fault Browns’ honest effort to be a unique top notch restaurant, however they end up looking and feeling and tasting like half a dozen other restaurants in the Yaletown, concord pacific area.
The food was cooked well and nicely presented. I had the Ahi salad, which was very fresh. Although a little light on the ahi to salad ratio. My company had the fish sandwich which was done very well.
The wine list was eclectic and selective. Not too large with a nice range. The service was fast, unobtrusive and courteous. It has great decor with a 'gentlemen's club' meets 'Brady bunch' feel.
So I have no complaint about Browns itself, just its lack of imagination in trying to step outside of the “”Yaletown”” restaurant experience.
