Booked my reservation online as I've always done and got the surprising confirmation phone call (that surprisingly, not all restaurants do). They had me reserved for a different time, but it turned out alright when I showed up. Had the oysters and seared scallops - which was great. It was topped with a caramelized cauliflower. Interesting and good! My girlfriend had the crab cake which she loved as well. The reception was actually fine considering the negative reviews written. We were greeted politely and seated immediately (keep in mind it was an early seating). Our server was really professional and attentive - but too attentive. I actually tipped her well because of her service. Entrees we had were the sablefish and the sirloin. My steak came out a little over cooked, but still tasted great. I was going to bring it to the server's attention, but it was still so tender that it turned out ok. The only odd incident was that another server decided that they needed one of our spare chairs for another table. That's fine, but he went on to just take it without saying anything to us. My girlfriend and I just looked at each other perplexed. He didn't even end up using it so just returned it - again, without saying anything. Finished off with a dessert, which they personalized for our anniversary with some writing. That was a nice touch considering that we didn't even ask for it - we just told our server it was an anny dinner in the beginning. Truffle mashed potatoes were great too and they were actually pretty quick with the cocktails. All in all, a good experience. The placed got pretty lively during dinner hours and our service held up - which was most important. Food was great for its value - considering that I have had worse at similar-priced venues (ahem Milestones). Ambiance was pretty good too.

Good food and very good service. I guess that's the upside of a smaller place. Had to check the place out because of all that I've heard about it. It was really small, but that resulted in great attention from the very friendly staff.

Horrible Service...

I gotta say that I was looking forward to AYCE at this location given it's popularity, but was absolutely turned off by the horrendous service offered.

Firstly - this place was already packed to start, but that's a given considering how popular it was. But I guess "reservations" meant nothing to them. Reservations confirmed at 9:30pm. Didn't get seated till 10:30pm. 1 hour wait on so-called "reservations".

When asked why it took so long, the host said that the guests that are occupying our table were not leaving. They are "paying customers and not AYCE customers so I'm not kicking them out. Besides, AYCE customers are only eating leftovers".

Two problems with that: what makes AYCE customers not as good as regular customers and since when did AYCE customers begin eating "leftovers?!?". Ridiculous.

That left a really bad taste in my mouth...that along with the great "leftovers" that I had while eating AYCE.

Recommend to not visit this place. Rude host (did I mention that the server almost spilled an entire pot of tea on me - then proceeded to give me a dirty stare and tried to warn me by letting out a sound like a "barking" noise - rude), apparent "leftovers" for AYCE and horrible service by the host and servers.
