I must admit, for average tasting pizza, the value is incredible. I bought 3 small pizzas with 3 toppings on each and it was less than $20, and it took 15 minutes to do. They deliver as well, and I went in for a slice recently and it was quite inexpensive.
I have never had a burger bigger than the South Burger. It was amazing. I admit that the menu is hard to accept upon first glance, as there is probably over 125 things on it, but it is a great selection and it actually tastes great. I have been coming here once every few weeks for lunch, and enjoy the fireplace and the coffee. Worth coming by for a drink after work, as they have a very good selection of liquor. If anything the carpet looks rough, but I enjoy the tasteful vintage bar look.
Somebody told me to check out this place for the chinese food. I wasn't terribly too impressed as it is a tiny little hole in the wall restaurant. However, the breakfast was superb. It's not the best tasting thing ever but cheap and decent quality food. I have a coffee, a breakfast, read the paper, and poof under $6 with a tip.
I used to love coming to Alekos, and although it is the same owner, I feel they have tried to become the best, most gorgeous place to eat in Coquitlam. That would normally be a good thing, but something is lacking. Maybe because we are in the suburbs and to pay for good, but expensive food ($22-30 an entree) it just doesn't make sense for locals to spend that much without being downtown. I like going into the little lounge they have created to have a glass of wine, an appy with a friend, and split (Praws Tuscany is good). The 3 course meal is quite a good deal. I am really not trying to put this place down, it's quite a neat place, but maybe the lack of customers sometimes makes the place feel cold.
Although they have expanded, I still find this place quite solid. They have changed the look and feel of the old Boot, and replaced it with a trendier pasta place. Same owner/chef, and although you'll never get a smile out of him, the food will leave you with a smile. Stick with the carbonara, the penne rosa, or a nice pizza. It's worth trying for sure, but maybe bring a friend and the entertainment coupon and share. Small but delicious portions.
Nice local chinese restaurant. Good for take-out. I enjoyed the war wonton soup, quite delicious. For the price, it's a good spot for local cantonese food. A little old fashioned inside, but seem to have nice owners.
If any complaint I have so far would be the constant traffic of people coming from the back through the kitchen, although clean, is odd to me. Average parking.
