most things are ho hum

the beer selection is great, the friendly staff are informative and able to suggest beers that go with your meal or your preference.

and the eggs on cornbread is PERFECT!

Other favourites:

Daily soup

Try the chocolate porter mixed with Fruli. Delicious!
They also have beer cocktails which are quite refreshing.

Zawa Restaurant920 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
Always room on the patio

This place has been around for awhile but never seems busy. It is on the quieter end of commercial drive.

The burgers/un-authentic poutine are really good the rest of the menu is hit or miss.

It seems they are doing renovations slowly. Dog-friendly. Great place for a sunny Sunday afternoon beer.

Toko Restaurant223 W. 7th Avenue, Vancouver
Tasty and tidy

We love Sha-lin noodles on Broadway but don't care for the poor service and grungy atmosphere.

Toko is clean and modern and our waitress was helpful and efficient. The portions were generous and the fresh. The Gyozas were homemade and delicious.

The restaurant offers seating outside which is a unique experience for eating Chinese food.
