always comforting

This is definitely more of a cafeteria setting than a dining room, but the bright and clean environment is always comforting.

Aside from various rice and noodles on regular menu, they usually display samples of items from their special menu at the entrance. This is great if you can't decide what to get. Their dinner menu is usually more expensive (usually box combo, 10-15 bucks), but they have recently started to serve specials at regular (lunch) price. I would recommend their shiromi & ebi fry ($7.95), which is 2 fried shrimp and a fish fillet combo with potato salad, green salad, and miso soup.

Their ice cream tempura is the size of a baseball! Great sharing desert.

I've always been satisfied with everything I get here. If you don't mind the cafeteria-like atmosphere, then you'll keep coming back for sure.

Great hang out place

I went there yesterday for the third time.
The place is moderately busy at early dinner time (on a weekday, that is), but I'm guessing it will get busier as the night goes on.

The atmosphere is very casual, and the food is never disappointing. I would recommend all of their skewers, especially the cheese maki (sticky rice wrapped with bacon & cheese). The oden combo is a great choice for those looking for less greasy food. This place is a good getaway from all that sushi and teriyaki.

Be prepared to see extremely small portion of food. It's not the cheapest Japanese food you'll find, and finding parking may be tricky. Nonetheless it's a great place to spoil yourself once in awhile.
